Chapter 22

Adiva's POV

Derby has been behaving strange from past few days,I cant figure out the things bothering her,all I know is that she scares the shit out of me when I think of normal human behaviour.I strike a conversation and she talks in monosyllabus,lights a cigerette and sits near the window pane.I am conserned about her,she is skipping classes from three days in turn and whenever I offer her to go for counselling,she laughs it off.

"Hey,Derby
I m getting bored out here,would you want to take a walk by the orchids?"

"I m cool,you should go"

"I ll call Kevin too,you ll like it with him,he is a good company" I assure.

"I'll come"

I call up Kevin to remind him to reach on time and in my knowledge this is the  first time I could have ever done something like slipping out of my pyjamas into navy blue colour denims and tank top.

"Oh there you are sweet mysterious lady,I know you for a long time now but each time I see you,I know nothing about you" Kevin puts his hamd forward for Derby.

"Where are we heading,I am famishing and I m sure Derby wouldn't mind eating out at some nice place either" I change the topic to avoid the awkwardness since Derby dinot shake hand with Kevin.

"Not a bad idea" she speaks for the first time.

"Ok,so where to,ladies?"

"Any decent less crowded place would be just fine"

"I'm ok with it" I add.

To my surprise,Kevin drives to the same restaurant where I first happened to kiss him,entering imside,the memories rewind from the past day.A smile tracey lips and he looks at me when we climb down,I see the curve forming in his lips,I spot the same barstool vacant.A rush of emotions pool in my mind.

"May I take your order"

"Jack Daniels,on the rocks"Derby orders.

And I look at her with my jaw dropped.

"Same" Kevin nods at the girl taking our order.

"Well,I m taking the same too"

The waitoress smiles,nods taking our order and when she turns back Kevin tells Derby.

"You really surprised me by ordering it"

"Yeah,I dint know,the girl is in celebration mood"

"Am I not allowed to?"She asks seriously.

"Ofcourse,you are,actually you triplicated our fun,Right kev?" I squeak.

"Indeed,the more I get to know you,the more you astonish me" he laughs.

"So is it good or bad thing?"

"Good ofcourse"

"Oh,I need to take this call,if you guys  would just excuse me"

Its Mike ofcourse,I want to tell him that I m here with Deeby and Kevin but only if he would take it easy.

"Hey,how is my lady doing?"

"Hi big man,I am here,put with Derby on a dinner date"

"Date?,so are you telling me that Christina should be replaced from my shit list"

"Mike,I dont think its a good idea to leave her to her own company for much long so I would call you as soon as I reach back to dorms"

"Dont spend much time hanging out,get back to me as soon as you reach"

"Fuck you,I love you too"

And I hang up before he could start with his not needed advice list.

"It would only be my pleasure to get to know you"

I hear Kevin's words from a distance when I am approaching them.Its a relief wrapped in some insecurity that I should not feed upon but I cant help nursing that feeling and telling myself against it.

I see a flicker of spark in Kevin's eyes when the deinks are served,he looks at me with the familiar sparkle and smirk.I cant help but return the secret smile for the same reasons.

We drink and drink till we are wasted,one after the another until my head swirls in the motion and my feet take me to the dance floor,I tap my feet  on the country music,soon joined by Kevin and Derby,I dont rememeber anything after that but the voices in my ear or head probably I cant figure out were feebly audible.

"You are not alone if you are with me,I understand you and maybe I cant connect better than anyone else"

"Every fucking guy is the same"

"Not everyone"

And then only a loud consistent moaning noises came into my ears,even though I tried opening my eyes but they wont allow.

I woke up in my room,on my bed and more astonsishing at my buzzing alarm.I turn to see around when I spot the other bed of Derby in the room is empty.Some faint voices of moaning sensuously enter my head and I hold my head inbetween my hands to figure out the scenes and unjumble the scenario or events one after the other.

Since Its hard to recollect anything its equally embarssing to ask any one of them to help me out,so I decide to give it a benefit of doubt and lift myself from the bed to drag into the bathroom collecting my toiletry bag.

Since its gonna be one big day,to shop,pack,and chalk out the action plan.My excitement is in full swing,that is crystally clear from the fact that I forgot to tell Mike,Christina or to discuss it even with Derby about it.I m not sure if she would like to join but I m convinced when Kevin said me the other day that he will be able to do so.

I pick my phone up and shut the door making my way to washroom.Calling Mike on the way.

This was one short chapter but the next one is gonna be much more fun and spicy and juicy.
