For me, the Second Age meant time spent with my father, who decided to teach me magic. Until then, I only knew elven magic, which in many areas was closer to me than the spells of wizards.
Remember, my father was still the only wizard in this Age.
I started with simple spells like lifting a stone. I didn't have much patience, so my first success came in a long time. My father traveled a lot, he didn't have an Orthank tower at the time, and I accompanied him.
I didn't see my mother until the day she married Oropher in their established kingdom. Both nations followed their rulers and the mother's estate became desolate.
The estate became my home, where I trained under my father's supervision. Staying with Oropher brought me many interesting ideas for spells that I wanted to learn. Protecting the Elven Path was one of them.
For a temporary period, the place became his archive, where he wrote parchments and kept them.
