Chapter 28

Rose's POV

I focused on my movements to the music as it flowed. Unfortunately I was having trouble flowing with it. I just couldn't manage to get my footing right on the big twirls.

"For god sake" I muttered to myself getting up and restarting the movements. The first part seemed shocking in my head but I kept going until I had to do a twirl and stumbled.

"Dang it!" I shouted getting annoyed.

"Loosed up" A voice called from behind me. I spun around to see Sky standing in the doorway.

"I am loose" I argued and she raised her eyebrows at me. "Point taken" I muttered.

"Ballet dancers can't do a flowing routine if they're so tense they're jumping sharply everywhere" she said.

"I get it. I'm a tense dumb ass who needs to clear her head and actually dance" I said flopping my arms by my side.

"You have a lot on your mind" she smiled at me. "You just need to listen to the music instead of focusing on the movements too much"

"Isn't that the advice I give my students?" I asked her frowning.

"Yes. So damn well take it!" she smiled.

"I'll do my best" I laughed shaking my head.

"Not good enough, I want to see you bloody acing it in the morning" she joked.

"Absolutely" I agreed laughing.

"Damn I forgot my keys" she muttered to herself. "See you Rose" she waved and I waved back.

"Bye" I called out as she left the doorway.

"Ok" I sighed going over to the music and putting it on repeat. I had no intentions of stopping until I could get this right.

I counted the beats but stuffed up again and stomped on the floor.

This time I decided to just stop for a second and listen to Sky's, well, my own advice. I stood there for a minute listening to the whole song with my eyes closed before starting up again but this time. I kept my eyes closed.

I let the music take me as I told all my students to let it do and this time at last, I felt like I was flying. I glided with the music perfecting all my turns and felling myself flow.

How could I be so stupid in the first place and try too hard? The first rule of dancing that I always taught was to let the dance flow from within you. Don't force it out because dancing doesn't work that way.

I finished my routine hitting my twirl and letting a smile come over my face. When I stopped I heard clapping and I assumed it was Sky back from getting her keys.

"See I took your advice and it worked" I said walking forward and hitting stop on the CD player. "Well my own advice technically but either way I let it flow and then..."

I stopped speaking when I turned around because instead of coming face to face with Sky I ended up seeing Will leaning up against the door with a straight look on his face.

"Sorry I thought you were Sky" I said looking down shyly.

He stood there for a second looking down at his fiddling hands. "You looked good" he complimented.

"Thanks" I replied.

"I never knew you had a tattoo there" he said referring to the side of my stomach.
