Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Rose's Pov

Lunch had so far been amazing. Everyone was so nice and caring, i could understand how they were all good friends. You could tell Trent and Nikki were meant to be together because well, you could just see the love in their eyes whenever they took a simple glance at eachother.

They decided in the end to have a nice barbeque since Nikki told me she hated cooking and Trent couldn't be bothered making a big roast or something but i didn't mind. Sausages in bread were more than enough to keep me happy and satisfied.

Currently we were all spread around in the backyard with Trent, Will and Jayden on the barbeque being sily and laughing. Anna inside preparing the salad and Julian, Zach and Nikki sitting at the table cracking jokes and talking. Me, well i sat in a lounge chair in the yard with a beer in my hand over viewing this lovely sight of, well family.

Just the thought of all this had a tear come to my eye. It had been so long since i'd had a family to depend on that i kind of forgot what it was like to have one. The happiness, the joy, the security. All of that stuff i missed.

"Hey are you alright?" i turned my head to see Nikki approaching me her own beer in hand. Thats what her and I had in common. Screw the wine we were beer ladies.

"Yeah, i'm fine" i said wiping the tear that escaped my eyes off of my cheek.

"You don't look so dandy" she said taking the lounge chair from beside me and sitting down.

"It's beautiful" I commented taking my attention back to the view, "Just the warm atmosphere you know"

"I know, ever since i came down from Brisbane these guys have become my family" she sighed looking over them with a smile. "Family is the best huh?" she asked smiling over to me.

I forced a smile back but at the same time my heart dropped in my chest. "It sure is" i agreed in a soft voice but Nikki didn't seem to notice. 

"Nikki i can't find anything in your god forsaken kitchen!" both our head flicked up at the sound of Anna's wails. 

Nikki sighed and shook her head standing up, "I'll be right back" she laughed before rushing towards the kitchen.

"Nikki!" Anna whined once again only to have Nikki shout back "Calm your tits i'm coming!" 

I smiled to myself at the obvious sisterly bond they shared. Out the corner of my eye i saw Will toss the tongs to Trent and then decide to bounce his way over and take Nikki's seat.

"You having a good time?" he asked joyfully stealing Nikki's beer and taking a swig. 

"Yeah i am" i replied with a smile. "Nikki and i were just talking about how you guys are so much like a family. Its beautiful to watch"

"She's right! These guys are like my second family, don't know what i'd do without them you know?" he smiled joyfully. "They keep me rooted, they keep me sane and their everything to me, besides my music of course"

I stared straight inotohis eyes, i loved the way they sparkled as he talked about they guys and his love for them. It made his whole face shine.

"Of course i couldn't live without my biological family either" he admitted shaking his head, "I'm so lucky i get to see them reguarly unlike the other boys, besides Jayden" he said. "But that's why we stick close" he said putting his fists together, "So we can help eachother through the good and the bad"

He looked over to me and he smiled. i couldnt help but smile back as that was the type of smile Will had and i guess its why i could never reject him like i do others. Because the kindness and beauty you saw in his smile was just too innocent to turn down.

"What about you? How often do you see your family?" he asked instantly killing the mood as my smile faded and head dropped. "What?" he asked noticing the tension.

"My parents passed away 5 years ago" I smiled sadly only briefly looking up at his eyes before putting them back down again.

Wills smile had instantly fallen from his face "I'm so sorry" he apologized and next thing i knew he was by my side sitting beside me, "God here i am bloody blabbing about how perfect my life is while not even considering you"

"Don't" i interrupted him, "I liked hearing you talk about family, it made me happy" I said smiling softly at him. He put one arm around my shoulder and i leant into him a bit.

"Do you mind me asking how?" he asked softly almost as if he was treading on glass.

"Car crash" I whispered, "And i was in the other car" I sobbed. I could feel Will tense from behind me and his arm tighten as he rested his chin against my head.

"Shh, it ok" he soothed me. "You don't have to say anymore"

"No" i protested pulling back and shaking my head, "It's about time i let it out and i'd rather it be to you then anyone else" 

Will started rubbing soft circles on my back which urged me to continue.

"It was late and i'd just been at a party with some friends. Mum and Dad had been out for dinner, it was their anniversary. We were all a little drunk so we weren't thinking striaght" i sobbed the tears starting to well up in my eyes. "My friend the driver claimed to be sober, no one had seen her drink and it was only a 5 minute drive to her house anyway. It was only suppposed to be a quick drive" i sobbed harder, the tears starting to fall.

I could see Wills eyes start to shine in the sun from the tears that started to fill his eyes but he kept them back and stayed silent, just listening to what i had to say.

"We were all laughing in the back so much that we didn't notice that my friend had started dosing off at the wheel. When we noticed we shook her awake but she got such a fright she stepped on the gas and swerved" i closed my eyes tightly and took a deep breath in. "We didn't even have time to think before we made impact. We spun off the road from impact and hit a tree" 

"The next thing i knew i woke up in a hospital bed and asked the nurse for my parents. She just gave me a sad look and i had no clue what to think. It wasnt until the police came in and told me that i knew we'd hit my parents" Tears were completely pouring down my face at this point. "No one in our car died, but my parents did. They paid their lives all because of their stupid daughter. They didn't do anything wrong. And now im left with scars all down my back to remind me of what i did"

Will started to pull me into a hug and looked as if he was going to protest it being my fault but i pulled back and continued. "I can't compete in my dancing anymore because no matter what costume i wear, you can see they scars. Thats my punishment for causing my parents death" This time i let Will pull me into his arms. He cradled my head as i sobbed into his chest mumbling how sorry i was.

He didn't say anything he just rocked me back and forth and shushed me as if i was the most precious thing he had ever held.
