Chapter 18
Rose's POV
Walking into the cafe I'd been to for years had never been so hard. Part of me questioned why I had agreed to meet Will, while the other felt like slapping myself and giving me a simple answer. Because I needed to.
Yesterday had left me so confused. I suddenly felt like I was watching someone live a life of confusion and couldn't figure out what they were feeling because I wasn't them only, it was me and I still didn't know how I felt.
So many times I had been told by others that I had feelings for him but I had never once said it to myself. Did that mean that I didn't have feelings for him?
Maybe yesterday was all just a fluke. I'm a girl and he was shirtless. I haven't been with a guy in such a long time that maybe I just got caught up in the movie like scene and it had nothing to do with feelings.
Overall I was just hoping it wouldn't come up in conversation because let’s face it. I'm not the best when it comes to spilling emotions. I know I freeze up and block myself out but it's a habit now and it's hard to change.
I hoped like last time that I would arrive before Will and have some time to prepare myself but as I opened the door it turned out I wasn’t so lucky.
Sitting at the same booth as always sat Will staring deeply into what seemed to be an empty cup. How long had he been here for? I wasn't late was I?
I down at my phone to see that it was indeed only 5 minutes to 9 so I was early and judging by past experiences Will didn't drink his coffee fast.
Nether the less I walked over to the table taking a deep breath and ordering myself to act normal as if nothing had happened the day before. Will was my friend. And a really good one too.
"Hey" I greeted smiling and sliding into the booth across from Will.
His head rose slowly and returned my warm smile.
"Hey" he replied setting down his cup.
"You've been here quite a while" I said.
"Huh?" he asked confused.
I gestured to his cup. "You've already finished a cup of coffee so I assume you've been here a while"
He looked down at his cup and then back to me in realisation. "Oh yeah, well I needed a bit of a pick me up and this coffee's really good so I left as soon as possible"
"Yeah, it's the best coffee in Sydney" I stated and Will let a little chuckle escape from his lips. "What?"
"Nothing" he said but I gave him a curious glance and he continued on. "That's just how Trent and Nikki met. She spilt coffee on him and then dissed his coffee saying it was average. So then she took him to where she declared was the best coffee in Brisbane and then things went from there and well. Now they're a very happy pair"
"That’s such an adorable story" I smile with awe.
"It is. Trent's shirt was apparently ruined with a stain but I don't think he cares" Will chuckled and I did to.
