We went to bed late partying all night.
After dinner Mum had moved all the tables out of the way so we could have a party in our lounge and Christmas pyjamas. Cisca had came back to us, but this time without Charles. As Oscar had said, they didn't work out for once. She'd came back by noon with her Christmas makeup all smudged and ruined, her tears taking over her face completely. Mum and Dad had spent almost two full hours in her bedroom, making her feel as comfortable as she should.
She only allowed Flo to enter the room, the only sibling that actually was extremely close to her all her life. Flo later came out with a finished cup of warm tea, some biscuit crumbs in a bowl as Oscar had shot me looks all day. But I ignored him straight off, I wasn't in the mood of him predicting my sister's relationship.
In the Christmas party, some of us had gotten drunk only half an hour in. Ciscsa remained silent, sitting by the fireplace and warming herself up while trying not to make any eye contact with any of us. Oliver had taken seven shots already, Lando and Dad having a singing battle. Flo, as I suspected, was texting someone on her phone. Oscar kept looking outside of the window, and I only joined in with the fun once they had snacks.
I tucked myself into bed at about twelve in the morning, feeling all worn out and grossed by the smell of alcohol that was caused by all the bottles. I could still hear the slight music Lando was singing to, while Cisca's voice finally being caught in the loud noises. The sound of wet towels on glass could be heard as Mum fussed about with the bottles. Oliver was chatting to Oscar, who had gone back to being all cheerful. Flo had returned to bed also, still on her phone. Dad was brushing his teeth.
"Wake up, love," Halfway through my effort to fall asleep against the loud music, the sound of an Australian accent appeared in my ear. A strand of hair was tucked behind my ear, as he helped me up from the bed. "You wanna see the stars tonight?"
"Yes, of course!" I whispered back. Oscar chuckled and kissed my forehead while leading me to the living room, where no one was noticing us. Mum had gone off to the toilet, and Oscar pulled the latch aside, pulling the ladder down while we stepped up. Being as silent as possible, he folded the ladder back and locked the way to the attic. "Where are we supposed to go?"
"Trust me, I've been planning this all afternoon," He pulled up the small window on the left side of the walls, as he carefully climbed out and pulled himself onto the roof. I stayed in my position as I was scared of heights. "Ali, come on!"
"I can't," I shivered, sitting on the edge of the window, not able to look down. "Osc, I'm scared, you know." I heard the slight careful footsteps as he reached down, and I was able to wobble on my feet. "Oscar! J-just get me up there!" I hadn't even noticed he had his arms around my waist and with one simple pull, I was up on the rooftop.
"Here you are," Oscar smiled slightly while sitting me down on the flat top of the roof. "Aren't they glowing bright tonight?" I nodded, placing my head on his shoulder. "Merry Christmas, beautiful."
"It's already boxing day, Piastri," I chuckled while twisting his face in my direction, pulling him in for a gentle kiss. "Have you ever thought of your future?" Hesitation cut him off of what he was about to say. Awkward silence lasted about a minute or two before he grasped my hand in his very tightly, not letting go.
"Yes, if you mean with you," Oscar hoisted me onto his lap, pulling his arms on my chest. "I love you, Ali. I don't know what I can think about the future if you're not there with me."
"Even if I die?"
"If you die, I die," He shut his eyes. "I swear it on my life."
"Fine," I rolled my eyes at his silliness. "Can we stay up here for a little longer?"
