It was three in the morning.
Over the next few weeks, my memory was still fuzzy and there was no way of retrieving any information from anyone, as we both had woken up in a hotel room, completely naked and our bodies without any clothes on. We only got to the bit that Lando had driven us to the nearby hotel after the accident, me fainting on the ground. We were causing a bit too much of a chaos that he couldn't drop us off at home. Max drove our car to the hotel's car park and paid for the hotel room.
I started getting nasty stomachaches over the next weekends, and there were times I wanted to throw up at three in the morning while waking Oscar up as well. But life had went on normally and properly as usual, even though sometimes I felt super unwell. It was until that one day Oscar decided to go out for shopping that I found it out.
"Hey, I'm out to get some food for breakfast, what do you want?" If neither of us wanted to cook breakfast that day, it was always Oscar buying the food from outside. It was always those quick microwave meals from the supermarket that filled out stomaches in just a few seconds. "I might take a shortcut to the nearest shops as well. You got your period yet?"
I thought for a moment, realising that my period had came in later than usual. I frowned, thinking about the dates. "Um, I'll check later. I-I'll have the usual for breakfast." Oscar nodded and placed a kiss on my forehead. "Oscar, do we still have that pregnancy test we bought back in England?"
"Why'd you ask?" He froze, turning around with a serious expression on his face. "D-don't tell me you got pregnant. I mean I'd be happy, but why are you asking that question anyways?" I gritted my teeth and shrugged.
"I-I just want to test it out, my stomach's not been feeling good, as you know," I mumbled as he nodded and stumbled out of the door, locking it behind him. After the night, Oscar decided we had to buy a test to test whether I had gotten pregnant during the session. In emergency and confusion, we bought in total three boxes, the cashier looking at us ever so weirdly.
"It's fine, Ali," I assured myself. "You're not pregnant, it's just a feeling." Even though I was convinced by myself, my addiction to wanting to throw up continued throughout the whole of the afternoon. Oscar wanted me to check it out with the doctor, but I didn't want to. "I just don't want to, okay? I'm fine, it's just a feeling."
"If it's a feeling, you won't be kneeling over the toilet wanting vomit almost every second of your afternoon," He mumbled worriedly while rubbing some oil over my stomach to relieve the pain for some time. "Here. This should work for a while, stomachaches and throw up feelings should go away for some time. For now." Oscar kissed me gently on the lips, as I reached for Theo, who was nuzzling against my hand.
After some time, he went to take a nap in the bedroom. Sitting up painfully, I reached for my phone on the coffee table and dialled Lando's phone number urgently. There wasn't any response, as I sighed and called him twice again. The third time he answered, his tone being annoyed.
"Sis, what's up? I was on stream, I had to stop it," He grumbled, as I took a deep breath and kept my tears back. "Ali? You want me to come over for a while or not?" Silence took over me as I wondered what I could say.
"No! Don't come over, I don't want to wake Oscar up for no reason at all," I whispered back, nervously biting my bottom lip. "The thing is, Lan, I've been feeling under the weather the last few weeks as you know, and I-I think I'm pregnant." Once again, silence filled the call as I waited eagerly for his answer.
"Hey, you know I'll support you any time even if the rest of our family doesn't, right?" He soothingly comforted me. "I helped you through the school years while you got bullied even when I was at a race, sis. Do you want me to get anything? Does Oscar know?"
