Elijah started working on Connor's programming as soon as he could, hooking your android up to one of the most complicated computer systems Hank had ever seen. But Eli glanced at the starstruck male while he was busy with wires. "Hank, you may want to get her properly discharged from the hospital."

"I'm not leaving," you cut in stubbornly, sat in a chair close to the immobile android. "The hospital can kiss my ass for all I care, I'm not leaving h-... him..." Your face broke but you violently waved off whoever approached. "I'm not leaving," you repeated, in a much softer tone.

"This is gonna take a good bit of time," Kamski murmured. But the look in your eyes just made him sigh. "... will you go back to the hospital after this, then?" That, at least, you could agree to. "That's fine. But I'm not lying about the time thing." He sat down in front of his complex system and began to do who knew what while Connor was connected. "I need to manually unlock everything that got frozen, repair the data that the virus tried to corrupt, then do the amazingly fun task of sorting through the broken code."

"... so by noon tomorrow?" you asked in a dull voice.

"Ehh, more like ten in the morning. Noon is generous, though, thanks."

Chloe went back and forth out of the room, tending to everyone- including your boyfriend. If something was needed, she knew where to retrieve it. But it was well past midnight when she knelt beside you. "You should sleep," she cooed softly. "I can bring you to a spare room. Just say the word."

"Nope," Hank cut in, barely awake himself. "She's more stubborn than me. You're better off setting her up next to the kid." Getting to his feet, he approached and put a hand over your own. "I need to run home. Got an absolute unit of a dog that needs food. I'll come back in the morning, all right?" You managed to nod, so he squeezed your hand and left.

While she may have been somewhat petite, Chloe had no trouble setting up something for you to sleep on, right beside Connor. She lifted you and helped you get situated; by the time she was bringing a blanket, you were already out cold. Your hand slid into your boyfriend's and remained there as you slept.

[...... I should be dead.]

At least, that was what he felt. Connor had no idea how he got there, only that his mere presence was by sheer luck. Or good fortune, maybe.

[Where am I...? This is... this isn't the garden. What happened?]

The lush garden, where he often escaped to for a self-test or just some peace, seemed to be... missing entirely. He knew of it and of how it looked, but now it was a mere memory.

In its place was something brand new. It was certainly peaceful, and he did notice a smaller garden outside of a set of glass doors. There was a fountain there, as well, and a carved wooden bench. But for the most part his new "garden" had been turned into a gallery.

[This is... unusual. Why this?]

The android walked at his leisure, taking in his new surroundings. The art pieces on display felt familiar and yet brand new. His footsteps echoed the wide space, and he was almost afraid to be too loud.

Turning a corner, Connor saw another set of doors on the other side. They turned out to be locked, however, though he did try to force them open more than once.

"They're not gonna open yet, kid."

Whipping around, the detective could only stare at Hank, who had his hands in his coat pockets and a vague smile on. How was he here, in this new mind palace? Working his mouth, Connor was finally able to speak. "H-Hank... how are you...?"
