Your hands wrung together as Hank drove like a maniac. In the backseat, Gavin was mostly silent but did speak up quietly. "... should probably call him. So he doesn't end up somewhere else when we get to the park."
Decent enough idea. "I crushed my phone," you admitted. Hell, you weren't even sure if you'd be able to talk.
A phone was tossed into your lap. "I don't ever use his number but he's in the contacts," Reed mumbled. "If you call, he'll mostly likely stay put."
"I d.... I d-don't...."
"Call him, Reed. She can't handle it," Hank answered for you, reaching over and handing the cell back. "We'll get him fixed. We're not losing him, sweetheart."
Tears poured down, your head lowering so your arms could wrap around it. Finally, you were beginning to crack.
I'm fucking terrified... I don't know what we're heading towards after those explosions... I don't...
Slowly, your hands covered your mouth instead.
If the virus mutated enough already, it's not just his sanity and reasoning he'll lose.
"Connor," came Gavin's voice from the backseat. It felt weird hearing him address the android by name. "So I've got a package for your crazy ass. First class, expedited shipping. Same-day delivery. I'd give her a solid ten outta ten, but she kicked me in the balls twice already, so I gotta knock it down to a low eight. Nice legs, though."
"Third time's the charm, jackass," you cut in, unsure if you were loud enough for your bodyguard to hear.
"Hear that? Yeah, I've got her. We're headed towards that park so don't fuckin' do anything more. Even exchange, buddy. We hand her over, and you shut all these timers down. We got a deal?" There was a pause. "Nope, no catch. Believe it or not I do my job on occasion." Another pause before the phone was held out between the seats. "Your Roomba requests to hear you, ma'am."
You took the phone with an unsteady hand, offering a middle finger with the other. "...... honey?"
"Are you finished in CyberLife?" Connor asked, his voice deadpan, lacking any emotion he was once wanting to feel.
His words were like a slap in the face. "How...?"
"You sent me to stop me, love. They told me you ordered them. Where else would so many have come from simultaneously?" Fuck. "I did not look for you. But you are in danger without me, and I've waited long enough. If Reed is lying about this..."
"H-he's not," you choked, voice close to breaking. "Honey, please, just stay put. Don't do anything, don't hurt anyone else. I'm on my way, s-so... please..."
Your boyfriend went quiet for a second. "... say my name. Tell me you'll come back to me."
"... Connor, I'll come back. I want to, because I want to he--"
He'd hung up.

Hank couldn't even get anywhere near the park. There was rubble everywhere, and peppered in the wreckage were what looked like the rest of the RK800 models. It was a large circular area of destruction, which meant that Connor would have to be in the center.
You didn't want to know how many civilians had been caught in the crossfire.
Unable to drive around the chaos, the lieutenant just parked in the middle of the street. "Looks like we're climbing this bullshit," he called out as he approached the barricade. Both he and Reed helped you over it, though it wasn't as tall as it was horrifying. You'd woken the androids up, and warned them that they would be walking into the mouth of the beast. They still chose to walk, and you didn't think any had survived.
