The Year 2300
No2: The Presidential Residence.

Location: Mildred

The whole congregation was drugged. Caesar ensured to spike their bread and wine with Xanax, especially on days when no one needed to remember exactly the nature of the sermon. This made the congregation see visions of ethereal beings but in reality, they were just high. So when Teagan followed a masked man outside the church as if in a daze no one seemed to notice.

Once the virgin blonde was safely in his car Trinidad went to work. He drove a little way from the entrance of the church where the trees blocked the view on both sides. He bound her feet and hands; blindfolded her, stuffed her mouth with a cloth and tied it so whatever attempts she made at screaming would never be heard. That done, he placed her in the trunk of his car; covered her with a blanket; then littered some Christmas decorations on the blanket. He examined his work; it was sloppy but so were the police.

His drive out of Mildred was without any problems however on approaching the border of the capital he ran into a protest. In all his years on this earth, he had never seen people gathered together raising a placard against the government. He wondered what this could be about and hoped it would not delay him. It would be a pity if he went through all this trouble only for his ware to expire. As he approached the growing crowd he could see a policeman ahead directing traffic but as he was closer still he noticed something that sent his cold heart racing. There was a checkpoint and the police were searching each car before letting it pass. When it was his turn a young officer by the name of Kareem stopped him.

"Special forces," Trinidad said handing the officer a card that did not allow him to be searched wherever he went.

"I apologise, sir, I still have to search you," this was one of the overzealous ones. Trinidad could tell that a bribe would not work.

"Go ahead," Trinidad said trying his best to sound unbothered. He had been doing this job for a little over a decade. He was aware there would be a day of reckoning and he was half ready for it but what will Desdemona say? She will not just be disappointed, her pure spirit would resent him forever and he would deserve it. And there were his children. He knew Desdemona. She will concoct some lie for his absence if possible because the children would be shocked. Their loving father a human trafficker? But one day they will come to know the truth and he could not imagine what will happen then. His Adara, his beautiful innocent Adara, would she ever forgive him?

"All clear sir, sorry for the inconvenience," Kareem returned with a polite smile. Trinidad returned the smile, he had been scared for nothing.

"What's the protest about?'' Trinidad asked.

"Hear about that population act? Absolutely ridiculous," Kareem shook his head.

"What's it about? I've been real busy lately and haven't checked the news," Trinidad said, the truth was he never bothered with the news because it was all propaganda. The media was fat on the lies the government fed it.

"They want to introduce some one-child policy shit. The worst part is they want to take away children below age twelve from families who have more than one child," Kareem said before he left to open the road.

Trinidad was even more scared than a moment ago when he had thought his business was about to go south. The government wanted to do what? They had made the most insane policies over the years but this topped it. Perhaps it was seriously time to consider closing shop in Falcon and moving elsewhere.

Location: Metropolis

Teagan woke up with a start. Where in the world was she? She tried to move her body but soon realised it was impossible. As she became fully aware of her present state she realised she had been kidnapped and right now she was being transported but to where? And why would she be of interest to anyone? She was an ordinary girl born to ordinary parents who had no money and lived on social security. Why would anyone kidnap her? She was of no economic value to... Was she being trafficked? Fear began to settle in. What will she be trafficked for? Prostitution? Just last week she had expressed her sympathies towards the increase of trafficking in Africa to the victims and today she was a victim herself.
