(stay away but come closer)"chapter 23
☆
Shouta Aizawa is not a fan of student internships.
They tend to be dangerous, and unpredictable. Students go from learning hero work in a classroom to getting real-world experience with actual pros. Accidents happen, buildings fall on your friends, etcetera.
It's always hard with each of his classes, when he watches them from afar as they leave his class and move up grades, eventually improving their skills and going to their respective agencies. Its been manageable, because he never has to deal with them directly.
It's why he chose to teach first year students, because they don't go to internships.
But, of course, this years students had to go and make themselves famous. Prove their strength to the world and get themselves sent to internships with pro hero's as first years. They've hardly even had a chance to truly adapt to school and absorb their lessons. He thinks the entire thing is completely irrational and that they aren't ready, and he might be right.
Nevertheless, at the train station when he drops off his group of bastard children, he's tense.
"You all have your costumes, right?" He asks, tapping his foot on the ground with his arms crossed. "Remember, you aren't allowed to wear them in public. Don't drop them or anything."
The class responds with a resounding 'yes, sir! ', Mina jumping up with her fist in the air. Aizawa scolds her, reminding everyone to be on their best behavior and remember to use their manners before sending them off.
Only he can't shake his nerves, though he knows they're completely illogical. He can't help himself as his scarf flings out and wraps around the class's problem children, pulling them to him.
"Not so fast, you two."
Noa and Izuku look at each other uneasily before waiting for their teacher to speak. He continues to tap his foot on the ground as he glares, eyes bouncing back and forth between the two of them.
"The pair of you are singlehandedly the most trouble-attracting, self-sacrificing, trauma-magnetized idiots I've ever taught. Behave yourselves on these internships. Stay out of trouble and do not get yourselves hurt or killed. Got it?"
"Yes, sir." They say in unison, fear on their faces at the man's intensity. He lets them go, dismissing them and watching as they go opposites ways, excitedly hopping on their trains.
"I mean it," He says under his breath as he looks up at the sky, white clouds standing out against the striking and familiar blue.
"Please be safe."
