As the leaves turn crimson, the season changes to autumn, the time that the second-year students of Katagiri High welcome having their class field trip. Not only were the falling leaves of the fall trees brilliant and vibrant colors, but the architecture of the classical Japanese shrines and buildings were beautifully crafted, adding more beauty with the changing season.
In the previous years, [Y/n] joined in on some of her school 's trips. She had enjoyed them then, but, they were nothing like right now.
For the first time since her preschool days, [Y/n] has a friend with her!
Miyamura walked side-by-side with her as Hori, Ishikawa, and Yoshikawa walked slightly ahead. Hori had originally asked Miyamura to stay by her side, but Miyamura had already planned to talk to [Y/n] during the trip. Not wanting to be too separated from him, Hori instead offered for [Y/n] to be part of the group. [Y/n] agreed to go with her, but decided that since Yoshikawa didn't know her too well, she would stay behind. That was her current situation, and although Miyamura could have joined Hori upfront, he decided to stay close with [Y/n]. With it just being the two of them together for the most part and the fact that they were away from the school grounds, [Y/n] felt more safe.
[Y/n] enjoyed the nice scenery, looking off at all the pretty leaves and small koi ponds.
"Everyone's pretty excited about the trip, Miyamura. What about you? Have you been here before?"
Miyamura shook his head, "No, I've been here before with my mom. But the scenery is always so pretty..." He stares at some leaves on his side and looked back to [Y/n], "What about you? Have you been to Kyoto before?"
[Y/n] nodded, "Yeah. Back in middle school my class took a field trip here. I went with my only friend from middle school at the time and it was pretty fun. But, we both got in trouble."
"Oh..."
Miyamura suddenly turned quiet and [Y/n] couldn't help but feel bad for saying that. She decided that hopefully changing the subject could make him talkative again. In classic [Y/n] fashion, she knew just the perfect way to.
"You're right on the scenery though, it is beautiful. But, me personally, I've seen prettier things."
That quickly got Miyamura to resume the conversion, as he became slightly interested.
"Oh? Like what? The leaves are at their most colorful I think." Miyamura glanced upwards to see one falling off the branch of a tree, "I really can't think of anything else prettier than these leaves. What is it?"
[Y/n] didn't say anything, instead keeping her gaze onto Miyamura. It didn't take long for him to get the hint, and soon his face became as colorful as the falling leaves.
"Oh, stop it you." He scolded, unable to look her in the eyes. Though, he didn't sound scary in the slightest.
The corners of her lips twitched upwards as if she wanted to break out into a laughing fit. She kept them down, however, keeping that cool face of hers in its place.
"What? I didn't say anything." [Y/n] feigned innocence, but then proceeded to turn away and snicker, much to her friend's demise. She decided that it was enough teasing for the day since if she teased him any more, he would probably explode, "Anyways, since this is the first day I think we'll get straight to the hotels first."
"The hotel...huh..." Miyamura smiled but he seemed to turn dark.
[Y/n] seemed to at least notice why he was darker this time.
