A tense silence filled the car as Lisa drove Jennie to the Grill for her evening shift.

"So explain to me again, why you feel the need to do this?" She asked once again, her voice calmer.

"I need to make some money to put away for Ella. She's going to arrive in a few months and I need to make sure I have the money to take care of her once I go back to school." Jennie explained again with a sigh. They had been arguing about her working for the past few days. Lisa thought Jennie was putting too much stress on herself with working, being pregnant, and all her school work. She didn't want her doing it all and Lisa was certain that even if Jennie wasn't working two days a week they would be fine. Lisa would work full time next year to make sure they had money saved up for when they went to Richmond for school. It would all be fine even without the small amount of income she could bring in from waitressing.

"We'll be fine without the money you're making. School is hard enough for you right now, you don't need to add on a job onto that." Lisa sighed, her grip on the wheel tight. She didn't want to get angry with Jennie but she was finding it difficult not to. Jennie was so stubborn, but then again so was she.

"I don't want to have this conversation again Lisa. I'm going to work and there is nothing you can say or do to stop me Lisa." Jennie told her once more.

"Whatever happened to this involved both of us? We are in this together and I don't want you putting yourself at risk just to make a little extra cash." She said and Jennie shook her head.

"I'm fine. I feel fine today and waitressing is easy work. Besides the tips will be nice." Jennie told her.

"I don't like it. I know you have homework that you need to do. If you work until nine tonight, then you go home and do a couple of hours of homework, how much sleep does that leave you. You need your rest to keep healthy." Lisa said and Jennie sighed audibly.

"I'll figure it out Lisa. Not everything involves you." She said harsher than she intended.

"Wow, thank you. So your well-being while you're pregnant with my child doesn't concern me. Thanks for that new bit of knowledge." Lisa said sarcastically.

"That's not what I meant." Jennie sighed as Lisa parked in the parking lot of the Grill. Lisa kept the car running which meant that she was just sending Jennie inside so she could leave. Lisa was really upset with her and Jennie honestly couldn't blame her. What she said went over the line and it wasn't at all how she intended it.

"Sure it is. Look just go to work since clearly we're never going to agree on this, and I'll be here to pick you up after work to take you home." Lisa said keeping her voice calm.

"I'm really sorry baby. I didn't mean it. My health has everything to do with you and how well you take care of me." She told Lisa leaning over in her seat so she could kiss her goodbye. The kiss ended up not being nearly as chaste as she intended it to be and Lisa's tongue was soon in her mouth tangling with hers. "I'll see you at nine." She whispered before opening the car door and getting out. She waved as Lisa started driving away and walked into the restaurant.

When she walked inside Jungkook was standing with the manager.
"Jennie, come on over here." Jungkook called her and she walked over to join them. The restaurant was dead as of right now, only the afternoon drinkers still present. Supper rush would start soon and then the place would be swamped since it was one of the only family restaurants in town aside from the local McDonald's.

"Hi." She greeted when she came to stand next to Jungkook.

"Jennie Kim, it's good to see you. Thanks for taking a couple of shifts this week. Anything you need help with tonight ask Jungkook, he's going to be with you all night." He told her and she smiled politely.
