CHAPTER 16

                        ELIJAH

"Swish!"
I can do it, just a little more and it would be over.

"Smack!"

Do not bend, do not break, not now. Hold on, just hold on.

"More swishing."

It went on like that for years and it never stopped. The degradation that comes from been beaten like a dog by my family hurts, but that was not the worst of it. The worst came in the form of silver.

Vampires are severely adversed to silver, although it was not as bad as Lycans reaction to wolves bane, but it was still painful. Very painful.

And it hurt alot more when that silver is melted, and a generous portion of it is applied on the instrument that was used to inflict pain and torture upon you.

What had I done to deserve this? Was a question I kept on asking myself, and it was a question that went unanswered for years, and a question you are probably asking yourself right now. My name is Elijah Danksworth, and this is my story.

                                ~

The moment a new generation of vampires finally came into the world, the sky greeted us with raucous lightening, the seas awakened and protested by casting storms so mighty it buried towns and overturned ships. The sun closed it's eyes to shield it's light from impurities, and the day turned to night.

That day was marked and revered in the unknown world nationwide. Different people had different theories about the worldwide disaster that occurred 1998. But no one could ever possibly fathom the real reason. The earth was simply protesting against the massive disruption taking place that day.

Every other specie in the unknown world celebrated the birth of a new generation, but the joy and festivities were also accompanied by dread.

The arrival of every generation, meant the arrival of conflict and bloodshed that would take centuries to resolve. The cause of this bloodshed came in the form of a child sent to earth with the spirit of the moon to break old alliances and form new ones. It was said that the race enleague with the one from the moon ultimately had access to insurmountable power. You can imagine how the other races would feel about it, this led to assassinating of any who had remote connection with the moon. And as a result, moon children began to go into hiding, and for that reason, all tribes and races suffered immensely.

It took several more centuries, but the unknown world eventually realized the error of their ways and cried to the moon for one more chance. It was then prophesied that the race with the mark of triquetrum would be the one blessed with her revered presence.

For centuries the vampires cried to the moon for the triquetrum, but the moon turned away. This slight almost resulted in our extinction. Newer generations of vampires became fewer and farther in between. The vampires were on the verge of extinction.

Now five hundred years later, a new generation of supernaturals emerged, greater in number than any before it. "The Moon goddess has finally returned,"  Everyone cried has they watched the moon overpower the sun  and ruled the day.

Each vampire child was checked thoroughly for the mark, but only a oneth of the mark was found on the offspring of the commander. Feeling cheated, the council members converged and decided to locate the other triquetrum, manipulate it's aura, call on the moon child, and get rid of triquetrums once and for all.

The earliest memory I had of my childhood was one of isolation. A triquetrum can be called upon in moments of extreme danger, so I was made to go through every kind of torture that ran through their depraved minds.
