When she first joined the organization, the days were a lot more complicated than now. She at last realizes that she wants to be with him despite everything. She briefly lost concentration due to her fascination with murder. But she is now focused on her objective, and she is doing everything in her power to reintroduce Suguru to the jujutsu community.

Since she joined his organization over two months ago, things have been finally going well. The first day of February is today. It's still fairly chilly. This year's winter was very protracted. Sayuri goes to check on Akiko after completing her mission earlier than expected today.

She was shutting her door when Sayuri spotted her.

"Zenin, why are you always out?"

"Oh God. You frightened me. I'm heading out to shop. Wanna go?" After locking her door, she asked her.

"Aren't you a material girl?" Sayuri smirked.

"I am, of course. Are you participating or not?" As she put her sunglasses on, she inquired.

Sayuri sighs and follows her to the car. She is now one of her closest friends, though she is unsure of how or when they became friends. Her heart, however misses the boy with blue eyes every time she laughs with Akiko. She feels like she's betraying him by making new friends. She couldn't help but wonder how Satoru and the kids are doing. She misses Akane and her weird jokes. She often wonders if Nanami is still scolding some juniors because of their lack of discipline.

She remembers the last time she spoke to Satoru, and her mouth tastes nasty. They didn't part ways amicably. She slightly puts her head on the glass of the car window.

They reach the mall when it's getting close to sunset. There aren't a lot of people in the stores. She follows Akiko as she happily hums a song. Sayuri sighs again. She isn't a particular fan of shopping whereas Akiko finds solace in it.

"Shopping is a spiritual activity," she claimed, "You would not understand it, Azai."

She proceeds to the men's section first, much to Sayuri's astonishment.

"Hey. Why are we here?"

She looks at her astonished and takes off her glasses.

"Do you not understand why I brought you here?"

"No. Was I expected to?"

Akiko is still examining her to determine whether she is lying or not.

"I'm here to buy a gift for our boss," She said before putting her sunglasses back on.

"Wait, what?" Her brows furrowed.

"Stop being such an over possessive bitch. It's his birthday the day after tomorrow on 3rd February. Shouldn't you be aware of this being his-?"

Akiko is observing once again, she could tell.

Sayuri thinks about this for a moment. What on earth is she to him, really? A friend? Well definitely more than a friend. A girlfriend maybe? She cringes at the term. Or maybe..

"His woman." She said with a hint of pride in her voice.

"Whatever. I brought you here so you can choose a gift."

"How did I not know about his birthday?" She asked herself. She ponders her past experiences. She searches for information inside her brain. Nope. No information regarding his birthday. He was away on a mission about this time last year, so she didn't get a chance to know.

"So now you are aware. Choose a gift. Come on. Oh and he doesn't like the color orange."

"Hmm. I'm not going to give him a big present. I have an idea. Do you remember how he typically celebrated his birthday before all of this?" She questioned carefully.
