"And he's such a loser.."
Mei Mei sighs again and turns to face the first-year student she is going on the mission with. The girl is raving about her new classmate nonstop.
"Is he now?" She made fun of it.
Maki gives her a fierce look and says, "Mei-san, it's not like that. People with power who are too afraid to use it simply don't make sense to me."
Mei Mei places her hand on Maki's shoulder while laughing aloud. "Girl, you think way too much. Let's concentrate on the mission for now."
Maki glances forward with a determined gaze. "You're right."
With a smile, Mei started to walk her out the door when she saw Sayuri. Mei had never seen the man she was speaking with. She also appears, well, agitated. After seeing as they drove away, Mei made the decision to use her pass. Immediately, she sends a raven after the vehicle.
"Maki-chan, would you please locate Ijichi-san for me? This place's network isn't operating correctly."
Maki nods and walks towards the assistants' rooms. Mei calls him after waiting for her to vanish. The phone starts ringing. He picked up the phone just as she was about to hang up.
"Observed her with an unfamiliar person. She appears unamused. They had the city in their sights. I figured you might want to know."
Moments have elapsed. Most likely minutes. Mei scans her surroundings to check whether anyone is there.
"Thank you, Mei-san." A deep voice answered from the other side.
She hangs up just as Maki reappears, looking disappointed.
"He's not in his office."
"Oh! My fault; chances are he's in the parking lot. Now hurry up, or we'll miss the objective." With her cursed energies fixed on the crow she sent to chase Sayuri, she spoke. Thinking of the money she will earn for this, she smiles to herself.
"So Yuri-san,"
"I told you it's Sayuri." She spoke angrily to the man seated next to Shoko. Nanami is in the front seat.
"Now come on, Sayuri. He's deliberately annoying you." Shoko chuckled as she spoke.
Sayuri pouts. Being impolite to Shoko-san's friend is difficult. She only shakes off her strange feelings for that reason, simply because they were classmates.
"What was your question?" Shinjuya was asked by her.
"How long have you been a sorcerer? You're junior to Shoko, right?" he asked, cocking his head.
"Yes. She's my senior. Since I was a student, I have been a sorcerer." She spoke quickly.
"I see. I can see why you're so powerful." Abruptly, he said.
Sayuri is taken aback to hear this from a stranger.
"Thanks, I guess."
"She's no good at taking compliment, don't worry about her." Shoko said, shifting the conversation to their time in college.
Sayuri gives her a mental thank you before checking her phone. She gives the messaging app a tap.
| Weirdo alert! We found him on the mission spot. He turns out to be a friend of Shoko-san. You'll see him at lunch.
She texted Satoru in a brief moment. Most likely, he doesn't know him. He is not excellent to welcome guests either, so it's safe that he knows.
