Gavi's POV
"...and the little pop star. They think they are the new Beckhams or something".
I have only listened to the end of what Ceballos was saying but I can hear others laughing.
"You could tell me that to my face instead of talking shit when you think I won't listen. Or are you too busy leaking more fake news to your friends in the press?"
He just scoffs at me and it only makes me angrier. Such a coward.
"Go back to doing fashion ads, golden boy. Some of us are here to play football like real men".
"You wish you had my career...and I'm 10 years younger than you".
"Who do you think you are, little boy?"
He gets up and now we are face to face. I've been waiting for this moment since he pulled my hair at a match months ago.
"You are only here because the manager likes you for some reason. How long did it take you to come back to the national team? I've never been dropped before. How does it feel?"
He pushes me and I smile at him. Other players start to get closer, to see what's going on and some to try to stop it.
"Shut up!"
"Shut up", I imitate him. "That all you got?"
He goes for a punch but I manage to move before his fist touches my face. And then he tackles me to the floor.
"What is going on? Stop!"
Our manager's words stop us from fighting more.
"You two again? Of course! Go home. I don't want to see you again this week. And make sure you solve this problem before the next camp or you'll be staying home again".
"I hate you", he says when he walks past me, hitting my shoulder with his.
"You're not even important enough for me to waste energy on hating you".
"Go now!"
Mónica's POV
"You'll be seeing your boyfriend soon", says Manu, putting his phone on the table.
"I know, Manu. I'm going to the match".
"No need for you to go. He won't be playing".
"Is he injured?"
"No, he's been kicked out of camp for fighting a teammate. The press will find out soon".
He what?
"Is he ok?"
"Yes but...a sponsor might drop him for this type of conduct".
"That's bad but...why are you smiling?"
"Because I think I know how to terminate your contract".
"You do?"
**
"Well, they are dating so she'd still be linked to him and his behaviour".
Manu explained to Saúl that he feared Pablo's reputation could affect mine. Hence why we should terminate the contract before it's been a year since we signed it. Apparently, there was a clause that allows us to do so. And if someone was going to find it, it'd be Manu. He's been reading and rereading it trying to find a way to help us.
"They'll keep a low profile. No collaborations together or events for a while. And I'll work on making her look good despite all of this, don't worry about my client. You've got plenty to worry about with yours".
"We already had some things planned...".
"They understand Pablo wanting to not be seen much after what happened".
"Ok then. You two sure about this?"
"Yes!', we say quickly.
And when we sign the termination of the contract, we both sigh in relief. Finally, time to just be a couple. A real couple.
