Gavi's POV
Pablo: are you free today?
Mónica: I have homework to do.
Sometimes I forget she's still finishing high school. As if our lives weren't crazy enough. At least she gets to be homeschooled.
Pablo: you can do it here if you want to. And then we can cook together? Like we said the other day.
Mónica: sure. When are you back from training?
Pablo: around 3, I think.
Mónica: I can be there by 4?
Pablo: perfect!
Pablo: ☺️
"Hey. Come in".
We still haven't mastered how to greet each other, especially when no one else is around. But I decide to hug her. I need to hug her, more like. And to have her around...but she probably doesn't feel the same. Not in the way I think I do. And that's probably for the best. Someone has to be the one with common sense in this relationship.
"Where can I finish my homework? You can go do other things. I won't bother you".
"The kitchen probably has the best area but maybe you want to use the sofa? Or the garden. I don't know. You choose".
"Kitchen is fine. I get hungry when I study".
Her little chuckle makes me smile and now we know where to go, I walk with her to the kitchen.
"Help yourself to any food or drinks. I'll...I'll be in the living room, I guess? Unless you need help".
"From you?", she realizes quickly how that sounds and blushes. Adorable. "I didn't mean...".
"But you did. And you're right. But I can still try to help if you need me. Just call me, ok?"
She nods and I leave her alone to concentrate. I wish I could just stay with her but just knowing she's here with me is enough for now.
But I can't sit still. So I go back to my room and when I walk past the kitchen I see Mónica writing. She's got her headphones on and doesn't hear me.
I keep walking around the house, not really knowing what to do. So I decide to go to the garden to play with the ball a bit. That'll distract me.
"Pablo!"
I hear her voice right when I'm about to open the door and run to the kitchen instead.
"Yes?"
"You didn't need to run here", she laughs.
"I run everywhere".
She moves the chair next to her left.
"Can you help me?"
"So you've decided to utilize my incredible brain?"
"I need your hand, actually".
"For what?"
"Can you copy this into these cards? It'll make revising ten times easier".
"I can".
When I sit next to her she passes me the cards and a pen.
"Just copy what's highlighted here. One card for each colour".
I'm not surprised to see she has a perfect system set. I went back to watch more videos from the show she was in and she always had so many pens and highlighters ready to study the songs and write down everything the teachers pointed out.
