Bella's POV
July 21st 2022
*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*

It's 6am on Thursday 21st of July. I wouldn't usually be excited at this dreadful hour of the day. However, today marks the end of another school year for me! Meaning I have some time to reset before September.

It's now 7am and I've just got out of the shower after my 45 minute run. That gives me just enough time to finish getting ready and have some quick breakfast before I need to leave.

I'm just about to head out the front door, ensuring all doors and windows are securely locked as I won't be home until Monday. My friends and I are heading into the city this weekend to celebrate the end of a very shitty school year for myself.

As I'm just about to open my classroom door I'm stopped by the hollering of my best friend Natalie 'BELLA!!!'. 'Good morning to you also Nat' I giggled. 'How excited are you for this weekend?' Nat basically screeched into my ear. Pulling away from the hug with my eardrums still ringing I give her a cheesy grin. 'Nat, as much as I'd love to stand here and chat all morning, I really need to set up for the day!' And with that being said I quickly fled into my classroom.

I've just waved the last of my year 3 pupils off and take a big exhale when I'm faced with an empty classroom.

Whilst I was so engrossed in my own thoughts I didn't hear the knock on the door, or the door open or notice my other friend Emily stood beside me with a concerned look on her face.

'B, what's the matter?' Emily softly asked. I looked at her, tears burning my eyes, threatening to spill over any second. 'I'm okay, just overwhelmed that's all' I reply barley a whisper.

Emily and Natalie have been by my side through the highs and the lows. Being a shoulder to lean on (and cry) more times that I can count.

I'm a hopeless romantic and believe that fairytale endings exist in all relationships. However, this year has taught me the exact opposite. I should be getting ready for the summer of a lifetime, with the person who I thought loved me the most. That was not the case when I found him in bed with another women the day before our 3 year anniversary.

I've decided after many failed relationships, that I'm no longer looking for love. This summer is all about enjoying some quality time with my people and enjoying a much needed break to Ibiza for a few weeks.

Just as Em whipped away my tears, something I can only describe as a whirlwind come hurdling through the door - NAT.

'LET'S GO BITCHES!' She practically screamed as she entered. Em and I looked at each other and burst into laughter. If anything is going to distract me from my own spiralling thoughts this summer it's my girls.

We packed up our last bits and headed to my car - it'll take 1hour and 20 minutes for us to get from our current location (St Albans) into London and after today, I need a drink!

We've just arrived at our apartment and the view is stunning - I've really outdone myself with the accommodation. From our rented apartment we could see Tower Bridge, The River Thames and the skyline in the distance.

We've just arrived back from dinner and are sat on the balcony having a glass of wine.

'B, we know you don't like to draw attention to it but we've planned a little surprise for your birthday tomorrow!' Emily spoke so softly, it was hard to be annoyed at her.

'Girls, you really shouldn't..' I started before being rudely interrupted by nothing other than Nats foghorn voice 'IT'S A REALLY GOOD ONE! I PROMISE YOU'LL LOVE IT!!'

I gave the girls a look of defeat followed by a smirk. 'Go on then, don't leave me hanging' I replied clapping my hands slightly.

Em and Nat whispered between themselves whilst I just giggled at their silly behaviour. Nat then pulled out an envelope and Em was holding a neatly wrapped gift. 'Here' they both said in unison.

'Open the gift first, followed by the envelope! All will make sense in about 30 seconds' Emily said.

I carefully tore the paper from the gift, to be faced with a England football shirt. I loved it! The holographic badge sparkling in front of my very eyes. 'Now this one!' Nat demanded. I then open the sealed envelope and found 3 tickets inside. My mouth swung open and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. 'But how? I've been trying to get hold of these tickets for weeks!!' I questioned my friends. I looked at the top, the tickets and then back at the girls.

'Don't you dare!' Emily threatened as my eyes began to water. 'You girls really are the best! Thank you so much.' I bellowed as the excite began to take over.

'I'm really going to be celebrating my 24th birthday with my best friends watching the Lionesses in the European Championship Final!!!!' I shouted whilst hugging the girls so tight that I think I almost smothered them.

I went to bed that night with a huge smile on my face. A genuine smile, a smile that radiated how truly happy I was in that moment.

'This is just the start of an epic summer' I whispered to myself as I closed my eyes and wished the morning would approach quickly.
