I awoke with a throbbing headache, the sunlight piercing through the curtains intensifying the awful throbbing in my head. Blinking against the brightness, I gradually became aware of my surroundings. The unfamiliar room and the faint sound of heavy breathing made me soon realise I wasn't in my own room.
As the memories of the previous night flooded back, I winced. The pulsating beats of the club, the neon lights, and the laughter of newfound friends echoed in my mind. I gingerly touched my forehead, feeling the repercussions of too many cocktails and an impromptu dance marathon.
Struggling to sit up, I surveyed the room for clues. Clothes were scattered across the floor, and a faint scent of salty air lingered in the air. My gaze landed on a bedside table where a glass of water and a couple of painkillers awaited me. I gratefully reached for them, attempting to soothe my pounding head.
As I sipped the water, my phone buzzed on the nightstand. Squinting at the screen, I discovered a series of messages and missed calls from concerned friends. Soon sending myself in panic when I saw who they were from. The notifications were from Nat or Em - they were Katie and Alex.
Dragging myself out of bed, I navigated the unfamiliar space, collecting my belongings. A glimpse in the mirror revealed disheveled hair and smudged eyeliner – undeniable evidence of a wild night out. Despite my. discomfort, a small smile tugged at the corners of my mouth. Ibiza had certainly left its mark.
Exiting the room, I soon set my eyes upon a very familiar living area filled with remnants of the previous night's festivities. That's when it hit me - I stayed in Nat's room last but why? My steps echoed in the empty space as I made my way to the balcony. The view of the sun-kissed Mediterranean sea stretched out before me, momentarily distracting myself from last nights events.
With a sigh, I leaned against the railing, reflecting on the spontaneous adventure that had led me to this moment. The distant sounds of waves crashing against the shore seemed to mock my throbbing headache. As I gazed at the horizon, the promise of a new day unfolded, along with the realization that memories of this unforgettable night would stay with me, even if the hangover would not.
I was soon brought out of my thoughts when I heard the front door open and the sound of heels echoing down the hall. I pushed myself off the railing and trudged back inside. 'Jesus Christ! Look at the STATE of you!' Nat pointed at me whilst pissing herself. 'You don't look much better you twat.' I grunted before making my way to my own room.
As I reached the door I could faint snores. I carefully opened the door assuming it would be Em who was still asleep. I made my way tiptoeing through the room trying to disturb the sleeping figure, grabbing a fresh set of clothes. I went into the bathroom quietly closing the door behind me, I had a quick shower, put on a black bikini, pairing it with a matching hat. I left the bathroom to Emily still fast asleep in my bed, I was looking for an oversized white shirt to throw on over my bikini. As I went rummaging through my drawers I was suddenly startled by someone groggily gasping. 'Wow, I wish that was my view every morning!' My head immediately snapped up, my body overcome with butterflies, my cheeks burning hot. I turned round and saw the most beautiful smile staring back at me. 'Leah? What the fuck! You scared me!!!' I whined. 'I thought you were Emily.' I quickly added.
Leah quickly made me way towards me, I suddenly felt extremely conscious and exposed standing next to her in a bikini. That was until I fully took in Leah's appearance. She was wearing an emerald green detailed bra with a matching thong. My eyes lingered on her body, butterflies exploding inside my stomach and my face getting progressively more red. Leah coughed slightly whilst sarcastically saying 'this is something you might want to get used to.' Before I could fathom what just happened Leah's lips were on mine. I pulled away the more heated the kiss got, knowing that if I were take to things further with Leah I wanted it to feel special. Both heavily breathing, resting our foreheads together Leah whispered 'I really don't want to leave this place.' I needed agreeing with her, taking a deep breath I replied 'Hopefully, you know... this (pointing between us) doesn't end with the trip?' Leah pulled back slightly, cupping my cheeks 'definitely not Bels.'
