7 - All play no work

Marco's POV:

Marco: Morning Eztli

Eztli: Heyy Marco I'm so sorry about not answering last night, I got caught up with something

Marco: That's fine, listen I know it's going to sound a bit forward but would you like to see the races with me at the Mexican GP?

Eztli: Oh, yeah no sorry. My work schedule is tight and I can't afford it lol

Marco: "Does it help that the FIA is reviewing some new guidelines they want to add and they are hiring interns to write the transcript as they put them into practice this weekend to see if they would actually help the drivers?", I felt nervous but it wasn't a total lie, they already had enough interns but Lewis said he could get her in. I  still can't wrap my head around why he asked me to convince her.

Eztli: Wait really?? I mean it would make my resume look good and my boss would totally understand if I went

Marco: Yeah, listen if you want to send me your resume I can forward it to my boss since he needs an intern for his team.

Eztli: okay alright, listen let me give my boss a quick call and see if he can spare me for the weekend

Marco: Okay just let me know

a few minutes later...

Eztli: Marco!!!!!!

Marco: "Yes? he say yes??", I hoped I was right.

Eztli: He said yes and the whole office wasthrilled to hear that my little trip last weekend resulted in a potential internship.

Marco: That's amazing!!! Listen I will follow up with my boss, he should send you an email later this week.

Eztli's POV

It was Thursday night and Eztli was placing her bags in her car as she was going to leave for the airport at 5 a.m the next day. The email she received from Mercedes said they'd cover her travel expenses and hotel, she'd be staying with the team in the same hotel which she thought would be great since she could potentially see Lewis and surprise him. She was so excited and couldn't wait to see him & Marco. She thought that if this plan didn't work that this internship could turn into something real.

They'd had been talking all week, well correction she had been going back and forth between Lewis and Marco. She thought Marco was amazing for getting her that internship, it was a bit weird though that coincidentally she even got it, she didn't even go through an interview process just through her resume she got the position. She couldn't help but think about Lewis, "Marco is a first-year engineer no way does he have any power or influence, Lewis does, Lewis was the one to bring the Mexican GP up during their talk over the phone, something tells me that bitch had something to do with it", she was flattered yet weirded out by both of them. She was going to find out who did it.

Day of quali GP Eztli arrives at the hotel...

I need to get to my room and get ready before I meet up with the Mercedes team.

As I got into the hotel room, I realized it only had one bed, which was odd considering the email said I'd be sharing the room with another intern. I didn't think too much of it since I had to get ready. Since I knew I got to stay inside I knew I could wear a simple dress and mules. As I left my room I decided to call Marco and ask him if he was at the track yet,

Eztli: Hola hola Marco!!

Marco: hola Eztli are you here yet?

Eztli: I'm about to leave the hotel and head to the track what about you?
