I ran through the dark, busy alleys of Bonesburrow, "Dang, this guy is fast," I thought as I looked back behind me. My hair was shaking and waving from all the running, and I could feel the adrenaline coming high.
My eyes widened at how close this guy was. His arms reached for me, but he struggled as it was a book fair day, and children were running around.
"No wonder it reeks more of nerd than money." I said in my thoughts, and the word nerd came out of my thoughts like a disgusting small creature.
"HEY, YOU! STOP RUNNING AWAY!" He pronounced and shouted at me but was struggling because there were a lot of people in Bonesburrow today.
"Time to get the fuck outta here" I thought as I quickly pulled out my staff, it was a purplish and reddish dragon. I sat on it and rode away. The staff wasn't mine, it was just borrowed from an old friend.
"ADÍOS!" I shouted as I waved my hand behind me. Relieved filled my body because I was able to finally get outta there.
Suddenly, I could feel something hitting the back of my staff. The guy started throwing fits of mud at me. "H-Hey!! Stop that no fair!" I shouted. My staff started shaking because of the muds being launched towards me.
He didn't stop until he finally hit my staff, and it was with a rock not too big or too small, just enough to hurt me and Stellar.
My back hit the ground and air out of my lungs "Shoot, you dumb mother fuck!" I shouted as I clenched my stomach just below my left rib. A sudden sharp pain hit my abdomen, I sucked in a deep breath.
I had crashed in an open area. Way too open. I quickly looked around and grabbed my staff, "Stellar!" I muttered softly, almost like a whisper.
"There she is. She stole a piece of bread from me!" The guy yelled. As the silver guard caught up, he lifted his hands high enough for the guy to not beat me up as a way to protect me.
"Woah woah, what seems to be the problem, sir?" The silver guard intervened, his voice worried yet careless. He looked at me emotionlessly then at the buff guy.
Although it wasn't clear if he looked at me emotionless as if I were a disgusting creature, I could tell by the way his voice was dry and fake.
"Okay, sir, I will pay for the bread. Will that be okay then?" The silver guard rummaged a bit through his pockets and grabbed a few snails in return.
The buff guy looked at me menacingly as I was still clenching my bruised rib. My eyes glared at him as I stuck my tongue out in a way to tease him, and then he took the money and left.
"Seriously?" The silver guard turned around and walked towards me looking like he was going to kill me.
"Stop getting into trouble Mariah, you could've gotten into serious problems" The silver guard said seriously and kneeled down and lifted my shirt a little, "But I didn't," I exclaimed happily as if I didn't almost got killed by someone so buff.
"Because I intervened in the nick of time, you dumbass. " He said and continued to look at my bruised rib.
He was examining my bruised rib, "does it hurt that much?" He questioned me, "No it doesn't weirdo, now get off of me I can get back home on my own," I said harshly, a little way harsh than I intended it to be.
Although the silver guard has always shown me mercy and care, I don't really like the way he treated the wild witches. I had seen him in action.
He sighed, annoyed, obviously. As I was just about to stand up, a sharp pain hit my rib, and I sucked in a breath as an attempt for it to go away.
"You're so annoying, c'mon, I'll carry you," He said, I opened my mouth to say something but before I could.
He already lifted me efforlessly, in bridal style, as if I was just a small feather. My face turned red, and I struggled to get off him.
"Stop struggling, Mariah!" He commanded, his voice loud as an act of intimidation. I could tell that he was getting a little annoyed by my actions. Maybe not a little.
"I don't want your help, I'm fine, I promise!" I tried to reason with him. I really don't want him to feel like he's just a caretaker.
"Just stop struggling!" He said as his voice raised, I scoffed and rolled my eyes "Whatever" I mumbled. Looks like I won't be able to escape from him this time.
His staff got out of his cloak (somehow don't ask me bruv) and positioned itself in a straight line. He gently put me in a sitting position on his staff, then he sat on it, and the staff flew off.
I wrapped my hands around his waistline tightly because truth to be told, I do not like heights. At all.
I rested my head on his back, and it protected me from the strong wind passing through.

It was silent during our flight. It was clear that we both weren't in the mood.
"Why'd you steal the piece of bread?" He asked, sincerely, as we landed in a restricted area near a Wishing Tree, "Because I was bored, and it's fun, " I added with blunt eyes and a smile.
"That's not a good excuse, Mariah." He scolded me. It sounded like he really does care, but I didn't, I'm still young. I can do almost whatever I want until I reach 121 years old or whatever.
He grabbed the bandage from his bag that was hanging from his staff and lifted my black shirt.
I could see that he was blushing slightly because of his ears. Both of it were pink. He quickly wrapped my bruised rib and let go of my shirt. It fell down, and I looked at him a little clueless.
"Ugh," He laid his back onto the Pink Sakura Tree. "Why do you always get into trouble?" He sarcastically asked, and he adjusted his mask. He was taking deep breaths like he had been holding back his breathing.
"And why do you care about me?" I sarcastically asked as I rolled my eyes, laid my back onto the soft grass, and my head on his lap, as if I already owned it.
"H-Hey!" He tensed up and stuttered, his face turned into a tomato, and his ears turned light pink.
It was always easy to make him tensed up and anxious. There were times when it was funny and not so funny.
"What?" I raised an eyebrow at him, "I can't lay my head on your lap?" I questioned and started to get up,
"Uh, no!" He said like he was commanding me, then gently put my head onto his lap.
"I mean, no, yes? Y-you can. " He looked away from a distance, whispering the last part. He put his mask aside, feeling the calm breeze.
"What'd you say?" I grin stupidly, I was teasing him, and he was so easy to tease. "You can if you want, of course." He quickly added, covering part of his face with his hand.
"No need to be embarrassed, blackberry." I winked at him, then closed my eyes. "I just want to sleep," I thought to myself.
"I need to sleep, and stop blushing cause you might turn into a real tomato," I giggled, then fell asleep, my consciousness leaving my body.
