My mind went in a million direction.
"What if Steve found out? What if Hunter found out? What if Belos did?
If he did, he would -"
My thoughts were cut off when I heard a not so loud crash. It was the beast..
Or at least Mariah, eating a page of my favorite book. The tales of the Grimwalkers.
"H- hey! Mariah!" I whispered, low anger rising in my voice. I took the blanket off of me and pounced in to get her away from the shelves.
"Mariaaahh c'mon," I groaned annoyingly and loudly. I pushed Mariah away from the shelves, but she wouldn't budge a bit. "Hot dang, I didn't know they are this strong." I commented in amusement and genuine surprise.
"MariAh-" my voice cracked, and my eyes widened in embarrassment. Mariah's dark emerald eyes turned to me while still chewing in the book. As if side eyeing me in disbelief.
"That's was not me, I-I swear Mariah." I waved my hands in disagreement if this wasn't already embarrassing. My voice also cracked. My pale white skin flushed with a tint of bright pink, including the tip of my sharp witch ears.
"Wait, why - anyways, stop that this instant!" I said firmly, frowning my eyebrows in anger and crossing my arms below my chest in a strong stance to appear more confident . The bright pink toned down, and I could feel myself calming down. My heart in its normal state
Mariah looked at me and stopped chewing on the page. Her head turned to me just enough to make eye contact. She spit the pages out and positioned herself in a standing strong stance.
With feet apart. "Now listen to Mariah, if you're gonna be in this form. You gotta -" I was rudely interrupted by a loud crack. I turned to the sound which came from my bed.
And saw that it was cracked in two. On top of it was Mariah sitting down still in her owl beast form. "You will clean that later - anyway, you can stay here and just be quiet if anyone asks anything from the other side you say nothing."
I said as I got in my cloak and masked on and turned to the door. "And never leave this room." I harshly ordered and closed the door quietly, walking out. It was a weekend, and I had missions to do with Hunter.
I turned around the corner and saw Hunter with his mask on and cloak on leaning against the door frame.
"I told you not to do that, little dingus. It's cringy." I joked and laughed under my heavy silver mask. "Oh, hey, big brother," He almost fell, and instantly caught himself using his hand near the wall.
"I-I wasn't leaning on the door frame, I.. was just.. yknow, anyway, I was waiting for you. What took you long enough?" He huffed out annoyed, letting his arms fall down to his side.
