–Mariah's pov–

My eyes flutered open.

I  woke up to dim lit hole.

My position was already in a sitting state.

My vision was blurry, and it was dark.

I looked around, trying to find my staff. Stellar.

"I need to go and get outta here. Wait a minute,"

I noticed something in my area.

I could feel the walls. "Dang it,"

I'm claustrophobic as fuck. I immediately tried to stand up "Shi-"but  miserably failed because of my broken ankle.

"HELP! SOMEONE!" I shouted again and again. Dang it, I was panicking, I needed Stellar, but I don't know where she is

"It's no use. It's either I wait for Stellar or for just anyone to help me, " I muttered softly, as I curled myself like a ball.

I could feel the tears coming in, I hated being in a tight space.

"Oh, no w-What if I don't get out?!"

"What if I- I get stuck in here? Forever? I can't be"

"I can't get stuck in here. I haven't even get to have a real romantic relationship"

"O- or spend real time with Stellar"

I started having an anxiety attack.

My heart started to pound in my chest aggressively, my hands were cold sweaty and were trembling horribly, I was hyperventilating, my chest was tight, my mind was going in different directions, my head started to get lighter and lighter by the minute.

  –Enzo's pov–

"Yes, sir!" The new scouts shouted before marching away in patterns. It took them months to get their marching right.

"Finally, I can go and relax," I said, as I smiled. "And I can go and see Mariah at our spot," I thought to myself. A smile appears under my mask.

The wind was cold and soft. It didn't bother me much.

What bothered me the most was that Mariah was nowhere to be seen. They'd been late for 10 minutes. They're always 15 minutes early.

I mean, hey, I'm not the "get here early or we'll stop hangout" kind of guy, alright? It's just that she's... Usually, early, Something's not right..?

I stood up, grabbed my staff, and decided to go to their house. I mean, they could've just forgotten our hangout time. It happens..... Rarely.

"W- what if they're in danger?" A thought came across my mind, and it kind of scared me, "Nah, no, they- they're not stupid enough to forget things." Another thought came, and this time, I liked it. It was.. Was nice.

I landed in front of her house, "Dang, for a human like them, they lives near a forest," I muttered, I knocked on her door.

Knock!

Knock!

Knock!

Nothing. Panick and worry started to bubble up inside. "Shit. Where could they have gone to?" Sweat started to grow on my forehead. Suddenly, something caught my eye, Wishing Light.

"Maybe that could help me," I chased after it, I tried to reach my hand for it, and I struggled to run but managed to keep up.

I looked down and almost fell down if the Wishing light hadn't stopped flying away.

I squinted my eyes because of the darkness. I could see a black figure, curled up in a ball, but it wasn't clear.

I lifted my index finger, and in the air, I cast a light spell to see clearly. It reflected on my face and my surroundings.

"Mariah?!"

My eyes widened in shock and fear, "How are they trapped in here?" I questioned myself. Wait, no time for questioning right now, I quickly jumped down to them.

"Hey?" I shook them, trying to wake them up. My voice was so quiet that it almost sounded like a whisper rather than a low tone.

They didn't respond. it looks like they fainted. They had dirt on the side of their left cheek. "Who did this?" I muttered softly and quietly as I caressed their cheek.
I carried them up in a bridal style to quickly get out.

"Oh my Titan, human, you're so light, like a feather." I was shocked cause they were very thin and light. They're probably not eating well. I mean, I already held her like this twice, but I never really noticed their weight since they'd always moved, making me distracted.

I sat on my staff and headed to the castle, I knew that Hunter would probably freak out, but eh, who cares? I got Steve... If he's still awake.

I landed on the balcony near my room. The breeze let itself in when I opened the door, and it was cold. I walked in, making sure that no one would see her or me.

"Enzo?" Hunter muttered softly.

I froze and turned around, "Human!?" He's eyes widened in shock and backed away on impulse, "What's THAT doing here?" He asked as if disguisted, pointing to Mariah.

"Excuse me? Rude, it's not a 'THAT' they're a they/them." I looked at him rather annoyed.

I started walking away, I was already annoyed that he had called Mariah a thing. "Hey!" He stopped me by using his staff, paralyzing me from head to toe.

"What the heck, ui!" I said. "Where are you taking them?" He asked in genuine curiosity, with his eyebrow raised.

"My room, their ankle is broken. It needs healing." He lowered his staff, letting the red aura fade away. I continued walking away.

"Don't worry, I won't snitch on you, I'll tell Steve to bring you the materials." Hunter muttered before walking away.

"Oh, and," He spoke up. "Make sure no scouts, especially Kikimora, see the, uh... The human," Hunter said, walking away feeling disgusted.

"I need Steve, get him now!" I said and closed the door to my room.

I placed Mariah on my bed, and they looked peaceful as always. I sat on my bed just below their waistline. "Hang in there, Mariah."

"Please be okay."
