I start working right away as soon as I enter the store. "Good morning, Mrs. Nieva." I greet her with a small smile.
"Oh! Hello there, Mariah." She turns to me, her mouth turning into the letter o before smiling sweetly.
"Who's this friend of yours? They seem nice." She says, mopping the floor. "Uh, not my friend, Mrs Nieva. They're just accompanying me because they're a loner at heart." I snicker when I see Alicia's face.
Their jaw drops in embarrassment and disbelief. "I assure you, Mrs. Nieva, that I indeed have a friend." They say, crossing their arms in confidence. I start walking to the back.
"Which is me!" I say loudly from the back. I went inside and got a broom, hearing Mrs. Nieva's chuckle from outside. I start sweeping from the entrance, slowly making my way to the bathroom.
"Hey, guys!" A voice calls out. Mr. Nieva. I look up, seeing a very tall guy with horns and a tail. "Hi, my sweet demon." I hear Mrs. Nieva's sweet and calm voice shifts from near me to a far distance.
"Mariahhhh!!" Alicia's voice drags from behind me. I feel a wrap around my waist as they lay their head on my back. I stop sweeping and look around seeing Mrs. And Mr. Nieva talking interestingly about something.
"What? You said you wanted to come. And I said that I was only working." I say, trying to gently get out of their wrap. "I know, but I didn't think it would be boring." They say letting go of my waist, smiling at me, star eyed.
"What?" I ask, putting the broom near the bathrooms. "How about I work with you? Just for now." They lift their hands to their chest height in excitement, fisting it.
"Uh," I hesitate, scratching the back of my neck.
"Mrs. Nieva!!" Alicia calls out to the two, which stops their conversation. "Can I accompany Mariah all day? I'll also work with her. No payment is needed." Alicia says, throwing out peace signs as an act of being cute.
I look at her, slightly blushing. Their eyes were so blood-red. It's impressive and impossible to have such beautiful eyes. I tighten my mouth, thin, as I remember someone who has that eye color.
"Sure, dear. Why not?" Mrs. Nieva says, waving them off a smile. "Yes!!" They whisper, jumping up and down and then getting an arpon, leaving me dumbfounded.

The store starts getting busier by the minute, I guess. I wasn't really paying attention. My mind was on a certain person with red eyes and brown hair.
Enzo? I don't know. I guess he still hasn't come by. Not that I want him to, but maybe he is still cooling off from last night.
I manage the counter with witches and demons ordering. "Thanks, come again!" Alicia's sunny voice floats around my ears before running away, cutting my mind off of Enzo.
We were handling the customer's well as Mrs. and Mr. Nieva cleaned any mess that was accidentally made and broke up fights that were about to happen.
After a few hours. I look at the clock seeing. 8:00 pm. Exactly, 8:00pm. "My shift is done, Mrs. Nieva!" I call out.
I had learned that Enzo and Alicia were siblings but cut contact when Alicia decided that they didn't want to join the Emperor's coven or any coven. They wanted to be free, just like me. And Eda.
"You mean our shift is done." Alicia hangs theid arpon next to mine inside the storage room, chuckling at their own joke. "Sure, whatever makes you smile." I say, looking at her with unamusement hitting my face.
I wake Stellar from the storage room. Half of the day, she had fallen asleep, only waking up a few times to see if I had gone out or if she was hungry.
Me and Alicia say our goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Nieva, as they were the ones closing the stores.
"Stay safe, Mr. and Mrs. Nieva, I'll be back tomorrow." I say, shyly and lowly waving. I grip my hand on Stellar, waiting for Alicia to hurry up.
"Byeeee, I'll see you later, Mr and and Mrs. Nieva!!" Alicia calls out excitedly, waving them off while getting on Stellar.
Both went inside the store, finishing up. As I was about to fly away. A sudden voice caught me off guard, making me look up with wide eyes.
"WAIT! Mariah." Enzo's voice begs as he flies down next to me. He gets off and lays his hand out to me. "I'm sorry, I'm late. I had to do something."
"Hey, lil bro." Alicia says, grinning at him, "I didn't know that you would be the type to be all touchy with someone." They say, getting their hand out of my neck and to my shoulder.
"Yeah, well, Mariah is my closest friend, and I need to talk to them." Enzo says, grabs my hand and teleports away from Alicia before I could refuse.
