Mariah's pov
"Please be okay." The words ran circle in my mind as I dizzily opened my weak eyes. I gasped for air as I opened my eyes in shock. I coughed hard, and it began to fade slowly.
My head ached, and my body felt like it had been slammed onto hard concrete. My heart definitely pounded hard in my chest. This place was familiar.
I woke up in a dark, dimly lit place. There was no escape, I was still lying down. "Dang it, son of a -" Before I could finish, I felt the liquid black water on my body. Everywhere. Wet and uncomfortable.
I sat up and looked everywhere and realized I woke up in my mind... Again.
This had happened twice, and now is the third time it has happened. This is where I met the Owl Beast. I don't know its real name, but I know that I already hate it.
"Alright, feather brain!" I shouted, lifting my clenched fists to my chest height in a fighting stance, my voice echoed, and it was kinda cool. "What do you want from me!" I yelled again, looking around.
My eyes averted from left to right and every direction. I turned around, and there it was. It was waiting for me.
A big bird had fur thicker than wood, a beck half the size of my head, claws that are the size of my head, and finally, eyes that are more blacker than the night sky. An Owl Beast.
A revenge curse.
I ran away in fear. I wasn't ready to confront the feather brain, I was too weak for now. It chased after me as it screeched.
Suddenly, a sharp pain hit my stomach, I grunted and clenched my stomach in pain. It felt like a hard metal hit my gut. I felt pain in my knees, I had fallen down.
I looked behind as the bird had also felt it. It screeched in pain and curled into a ball, like I did when I was in pain.

Enzo's pov
Mariah lay in my bed, breathing slowly. Feeling sweaty, I took off my mask and cloak, which made me sweat because of the thick outer layer of the cloak. I gently placed my mask on the nightstand.
I took a deep breath, and suddenly, I could feel my pale cheeks turning a bright pink. "Dang it, why the heck am I blushing?! W-wait, am I nervous??" I thought to myself as I used my hand as a small fan.
"Okay, okay," I tried to calm myself down and continued to take deep breaths. "Everything is fine, I'm fine, their fine," I released the distressed feeling in my body. "They'll be fine."
I stopped and turned behind me to look at Mariah. My head just turned around the corner of my shoulder as my eyes scanned Mariah like they'd been the one I've been looking for, my body was looking at the door, but my head was slightly looking at her.
I walked up to my nightstand, and my footsteps were heavy yet quiet. I quickly took my mask from the nightstand and went out of the room. "I need Steve," I muttered as my eyes' gaze turned away from the direction of my room.
"Oof." I had bumped into someone, I backed away and dusted myself. I looked up, Steve.
"Steve, heyyy," I said optimistically, I chuckled nervously. I didn't know if Hunter had already told them about Mariah.
"Uh, why are you acting weird?" Steve questioned, swiftly putting their hands on their hip, their eyebrow lifted up.
"Oh! Is this about Mariah?" They had guessed correctly with a seemingly bright smile, "No worries, man. I already have the needed materials for her." They exclaim quietly. "I'm guessing she's in your room?" Steve pointed to my room.
