Mariah's POV

I walk out of my house, feeling the nightly breeze replace the warmth of my house. I'm wearing a black tank top with black shorts but not too short, a little bit puffy, long gloves that cut around my fingers, and a grey jacket around my waist. My perfect style.

"I am loving this." I sang.

I got home after the Selkidomus incident, or rather Selkidomus adventure, and after the dinner, Luz invited me to. I didn't really celebrate or do anything yet, not that there was anything to do, to be honest, but I will take Stellar out for a little treat. Spider legs, her favorite, tomorrow.

I am planning to apologize to Enzo later. Tomorrow. I don't know when. Maybe I'll never apologize. Sike, I will. I'm not a bad bitch. I take that back I am a bad bitch, just not the rude kind.

Not like Kikimora. Enzo and Hunter hate her, and she hates Enzo and Hunter. I think the feelings are mutual. Maybe not.

Right now, I am walking towards a bar. I know I'm not old enough, but who cares? It's 10: 34 pm. right now. All they care about is getting snails for their payment. Bartenders aren't supposed to interfere with the customer's business, and they're not paid enough to care.

Stellar hung around my neck as usual as I carefully walked. I may not be a criminal (yet), but I still had some enemies that are around this area of Bonesborough.

I will be walking past Mrs. Nieva's store. It is Montierday tomorrow, so I'll be working and I don't know, maybe Enzo will visit me, or not. I don't think I had the chance to tell him I'm working now. Hehehehe.

I push both of the doors wide open. An uncomfortable silence stunned the witches and demon inside. If eyes can pierce through a witches body, I'd probably be dead by now. I ignore their eyes stabbing through me, and I walk ahead to the front and order some apple vudkya. It wasn't a very expensive kind of alcohol but a few big cups will be enough to miss my sight and mind.

"Yo, Mariah. Where have you been?" The bartender greet me through their honest voice, filling me up a cup of apple vudkya with apple blood. "Hey Roxa, I've been out filling my snails up." I say as I rest my cheek on the palm of my left hand.

Stellar went around, and Roxa bent down to her, giving her a little treat of Scarlet milk. It's Stellar's favorite beverage.

"How's that doing for ya?" They slide the cup filled with vudkya towards my empty hand on the table, and I grab it without having to lift my hand.

I lift my cup to my lips, and before sipping, I reply with, "Well, I got Selkigris." The apple beer mixed with apple blood touch every corner of my mouth, hydrating my dry throat.

"O-oh! That's great." Roxa says, genuinely surprise with my answer. I know it was genuine because it's not every day you can just magically get selkigris. You have to work hard for it.

I tightly close my eyes from the spice and spikes, stabbing around my throat to my stomach. Although closing my eyes doesn't help much, it makes me think it does.

That feeling of the need to drink something finally went away and replaced with the relief of hydration. The more I heavily and harshly gulp down the vudkya, the more it feels like like my breath shortened, making it difficult to chug more down.

My glass thumped loudly in front of me as my head hung low, with my bangs covering my face. If you could feel aura around anyone, you'd probably feel the strong emotions I'm feeling right now. It's the tired kind of emotions.

The sounds of everyone drowned out from my ears until it collapsed by Roxa's quick chuckle. "Slow down, Ri. You don't want what happened last time you were drunk to happen. Again." Roxa's voice reluctantly added the last word before putting down a glass, then continuing to serve another costumer.

"Don't worry," I let out a sigh, "I won't stay long." My voice seems convincing enough. I lay my head on the counter near my still, very cold cup.

My ears muffled everything again, and this time, there would be no distraction. All focus. Just focus. Focus. I let out a heavy sigh as my lids heavily closed.

The quiet night calmly sang to those outside. The stars poked the night sky with their low light. It would be romantic if there were couples. Not you, though. You are alone tonight:)

The quietness of the night break, disrupted by the loud sounds of a specific bar.

Roxa's.

Peoples' screams of cheer could potentially be heard from a mile away.

Everyone is cheering as your feet thumps loudly on the other side of the counter, shaking your hips, and clapping to a rhythm as Roxa's cheers, and everyone else's roared around the bar, making it difficult to hear the song blasting on the speakers.

"Yeah!" Roxa cheered for you, "Go, Mariah! Beat her ass!" They throw their fisted hands above their heads.

On the opposite side of the counter, a girl with a very curvy body, red hair, and blue eyes is Camille Deddra. In this bar, on this small side of Bonesborough, she was known as a dancer.

Her moves are very sexy and distracting. Making you lose your sight on anything else, giving you pink tints on your cheeks. After your third cup of apple vudkya, you walked up to her and challenged her to a little dance duel.

Since she knew you were just under vudkya, she thought it would be a quick dance off. But instead, right now, she's sweating furiously as you dance like there is no one judging you.

No one is judging. The more you danced, the more people joined in on dancing below you, having more fun than ever.

Until the music stops, followed by a loud thump on the opposite side of the counter, "Camille? You alright?" I looked over her body.

"Yeah, still a bit -" Before she could continue her sentence, she immediately clasped her hand over mouth. After another gagging motion, her feet ran towards the bathroom. She probably had too many vudkya with all her spinning and moving.

"Alright, Ri. Time for you to go." Roxa went over the counter and held my hand, carefully helping me down to the floor. As Stellar yawned and woke up, walking beside me as Roxa helped me out.

"Uhmm, yeahh, sureee," I managed to spill out slurred words. "Are you sure you're gonna be fine? I can walk you to your -"

"I'll be fineeee. I have stellar with me." My  head hung low as Roxa helped me outside. "Alright, then. Bye, I still have customers to serve," they dust me off. I can feel their hands sweeping on my shoulder.

"Thanks, Roxa." I turned around, "See ya sooon." I walk away as I heard doors closed behind me. I only had like, 1, 2, maybe 4 cups of vudkya. I could make it to my house without falling.

☆★☆★☆

After walking for a few minutes, away from the bar and away from your house. Although you were under the influence of vudkya, you were still able to admire the stars earlier.

"Woah, you're so pretty." You lifted your head until your face directed to the night sky. You felt Stellar's head rubbing onto the side of your thighs. You look down, seeing her calm and happy as you pet her.

A rustling around the bushes caught your attention. You turned around before you can crane your neck even more from looking up. Before you can make out what was in front of you, a sudden wet cloth covered your mouth.

"HEY! GET AWAY FROM THEM!" A voice called out from the different direction you didn't know where, as your eyelids betrayed you before you could move a muscle.

You saw Stellar trying to burn the three people kidnapping you but got thrown off and hit a tree, knocking her unconscious. You felt your heart pounded in your chest from anger. Who the hell would have the damn audacity to hurt your Stellar.

You wanted to get to Stellar, but she was far from you. You can feel the grass under your body. Someone was throwing out magic and punching someone else. You couldn't see who it was, but its voice is new.

You saw someone get blown away as you can feel vines wrapping around you, dragging you down, covering your face until it was all dark. The last thing you see is someone picking up Stellar and running away.

"What?" You softly muttered. You knew needed Stellar, but you are weak because of that wet cloth. You couldn't feel or see anything.
