Chapter Three - 'Questioning'

You arrive at Pirate Cove and push the starry curtains back, slipping into the darkness quietly. Thoughts whirl around your head. What had Freddy and Bonnie been talking about?

As your eyes adjust to the dark, you finally make out Foxy, sitting on his stall. He looks up as you walk over, gazing at you with his golden eyes.

"Hi." He said simply, and you smile.

"Hey." You reply and slide onto the floor.

You and Foxy sit in silence for what seems like hours, but when you look at the watch on your wrist, it was only ten minutes.

"So, um.." You fumble for the right words to say. "Do you know what Bonnie and Freddy were talking about?"

You weren't sure, but you thought that Foxy's eyes darkened, but shook it away instantly. You were, after all, sitting in the dark.

"I have no idea." Foxy replies with a shrug. "I wasn't there, was I?"

You shake your head, and you both lapse into silence. As you sit there, you wonder about what you're going to say. You try grasping at different words and questions, but they slip away like a feather in a river; Too quick for you to grab and pull out.

"So, you don't know?" You finally ask. "Not even a theory on what they were uttering about?"

Foxy doesn't reply, only twitching an ear in response. Yet again, you both sit in silence, until you feel as if you may burst with agitation. It was annoying, not knowing and having to sit in silence.

"Vincent's dead." You say aloud. Foxy tilts his head, puzzled.

"I know that." Foxy says, deadpanning you. "I was there, remember?"

"I know." You answer back. "But why else would Freddy and Bonnie be murmuring? Drusilla doesn't know!"

Foxy flinches, as if you'd slapped him. So he did know something. And he hadn't told Drusilla or you.

What about Mike? You wonder, and then mentally slap yourself. Mike would never, ever listen to a word an animatronic says!

"Well, we're in a relationship, aren't we?" For some reason, you didn't like saying that you two were girlfriend and boyfriend. It was odd somehow.

Foxy nods quickly.

"Then why aren't you telling me?" You cry out. "Why do you and Freddy and Bonnie and everybody here, always keep secrets?"

Foxy opens his mouth but closes it quickly, and you shake your head, a pit beginning to form in your stomach. It opens up, until you feel like your may fall and never be able to climb back up. Rage surges through you, at not being told anything, at not knowing.

You jump to your feet and start towards the curtains, before you turn, one hand holding the curtains open, the other in a pocket.

"When you think that you trust me enough to tell me the truth-" You sigh. "Come and find me!"

In a storm of fury, you barely see where you're going. You fly past the office, ignoring a startled yelp from Mike, who just happened to be near the door. You glare at him and continue stalking past.

Through the Dining Area and past the restrooms, until you're near the kitchen. You can hear Chica inside, happily crashing the pans and pots together. You hate the way that everybody acts so happy when secrets constantly surround them.

You stalk down another hallway, but then your rage dies down, until it's just a simple echo in your stomach and heart. And suddenly, you don't know where you are.

"Ummm." You stare around. You're standing in the middle of a dark hallway, lights flickering and the quiet like a shrill scream. It hurts your ears.

Panic sets in and, in the dark, you have no idea which way leads to the main part of the building. You glance back and forth, before deciding. You set in the direction that you had been heading, wincing as your footsteps clack against the tiled flooring.

Follow me. A voice whispers in your head, and you stare around, confused. Who had said that?

You shake your head and continue, hugging your arms to your body as the cold begins to wrap itself around your body.

Follow me and you'll be warm and safe. The voice says ago, tempting you.

Don't be afraid. It says. I will show you their secrets, if you like. And they'll never have to know a thing.

To your own dismay, you find yourself following the voice, but quickly find yourself believing the voice. You'll find out the secrets. And they won't even know!

Here you are! The voice congratulates you.

You stop and look around, puzzled. And then the voice speaks again, louder this time.

Feel for the door on that wall.

You reach over and feel along the wall, until your fingers find a crack and then the handle of a door. You hold your breathe as you pull it open.

Come through and discover the secrets.

You follow the voice.
