And what if I do?
It's possible that I won't,
But what if I do?
What if I let you in?
What if you see all the damage, the terror, the scars of my soul?
What if I let you explore my world, and understand what I'm thinking?
And what if you find something I don't want to see myself?
What if you explore where it hurts?
Where words cut deep and wounds remain unhealed
Honestly, I'm not even worried you'll find something that you don't like and leave without further notice.
I'm not even worried that you won't understand the insights of my soul and misinterpret them.
Just like every deep thinker, I'm more afraid of being understood than being misunderstood
Because if you understand me,
If you can relate to the scars,
It means that you too wear them proudly
And you too know what it's like to lose not any item or person
But something much more substantial,
Yourself
