Being a woman is a double-edged sword
I love doing my hair and my makeup,
Picking out my outfits and getting ready with my friends,
Even when I'm in the middle of a crisis because I have nothing to wear.
I love the uniqueness of my body
And defining what I feel is womanhood and femininity
I love crushing sexist standards and expectations,
I love sharing unashamedly and unabashedly my secrets with my fellow sisters
Oh, how I love being a woman!
And yet what can I say about being a woman?
That we are disrespected,
That we are dismissed,
That we are ignored,
That we are raped,
That we are afraid to walk alone,
To let ourselves relax in public because everyone poses a threat
That's no way to live your life!
By believing the greatest part of yourself is your ultimate weakness,
That your self-love and identity is the greatest weapon of mass destruction and not only for your heart
