What can I say, that we only haven't been asked to grow three heads?
What can I say when the imagination of the elders runs wilder than my childish dreams?
We are expected to study and to exercise,
To have good manners and to fight for our rights.
We have the right to listen when elders speak, oh but don't you dare state your opinion whatever one that may be.
We are expected to rest and to stay healthy, but we have to sacrifice if we don't want to be labeled as lazy.
Tell me how do you expect us to react after all that?
How do you expect us to feel?
Because it strikes you as a huge surprise
When we jump off buildings,
When we isolate,
When we cry ourselves to sleep every night,
When we struggle to get out of bed.
Well, screw you for calling us weak and sensitive!
Screw you for being dismissive and inconsiderate when it comes to our problems!
Screw you for labeling this as the "teen life"!
And screw you if you think you can tell me how to live my life!
If someone here is a frail coward it's the person who decided it was a good idea to inflict the same pain they also lived.
So think again next time you decide to speak
And don't be surprised when we retort,
That's what you wanted right, for us to be independent and to speak?
