I lay in bed squinting as the sun creeps through my curtains. I stretch my body whilst laying down in bed still. I sit up and start reading my book again, 'Divergent', continuing where I got up too yesterday.
I look at my phone and see that it's already nine o'clock. I thud downstairs and into the kitchen ready to get breakfast. I grab the Lucky Charms and pour them into a bowl before adding milk. I pour myself an orange juice and I sit down at the island and start munching away at my breakfast. I feel so relaxed knowing that I don't have school for a week. I feel as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders that I've been carrying for a long time.
Kylie thuds in kitchen with a moody look upon her face; she's sulking. I watch her as she swings open the fridge door and pours herself an orange juice and makes herself a bowl of coco pops.
I would ask what's wrong but I'm too afraid to ask, so instead I end up staring at her, watching her slam the spoon into the bowl of cereal and into her mouth.
"You're a cereal killer," I joke. She looks up from her bowl but without moving her head. Her eyes look at me giving me the evils as she then looks up, showing me an uninterested face. I raise my eye brows and slowly put my bowl in the sink and my glass in the sink too. I make myself a glass of water whilst Kylie puts her dishes in the sink too. I slowly walk up the stairs with Kylie following behind me. I walk into my room and Kylie still follows. I frown at her and she pushes me back and then shuts my bedroom door.
"I literally have nothing to wear," she sulks. I'm about to ask for what but then I remember. Mom and dad go on holiday on Monday and don't come back till Saturday. Kylie and I are going to be having a house party on Tuesday. Well technically it's only Kylie's party but because I'm her sister and I've got no where else to go, I get to join in.
"What are you gonna wear? Do you know yet?" She asks me. I shrug, standing up and walking over to my wardrobe. I examine a few of my clothes and then I pull out black jeans and a white tee. I hold them up and show her. I look up and see her jaw dropped open and her face frowning as she stares at the clothes I have chosen. She stands up and flicks quickly through the clothes in my wardrobe making sounds like 'ew' and 'ugh' as she flicks past each piece of clothing.
"Have you got any money saved?" She asks turning to me and closing my wardrobe doors and wiping her hands on her grey Nike joggers. I nod my head,
"Yeah, I have loads. I have about, hm, maybe like three thousand." Her jaw drops again but this time she looks at me in awe.
"How come?" She asks interested. I laugh,
"I don't go out so I don't have anything to spend my money on." She nods her head and puts her bottom lip out. She claps her hands and says walking out my room,
"Get dressed loser, I'm taking you shopping."I put on black jeans and the white tee with scruffy black boots that I've had for ages. I put on my glasses and scrape my hair back into a pony tail. I walk out my room and then see Kylie wearing skinny jeans, a white tee, long gold necklace, a cream cardigan, white Nike trainers, make up on and her hair down and behind her back. She looks at me frowning to herself but saying it half to me,
"We'll work on your looks after clothes."I hop into her silver Ford Fiesta and she cranks up the music high but low enough we can hear each other's voices. We sing along to some of the songs as we drive to the shopping mall.
"This is a little odd but we need to work from the very bare to the outside. So like top to bottom. So first, underwear. Let's go to -"
"What's wrong with my underwear?"
"No offence but I've seen your underwear and it isn't exactly pretty."
"Who's gonna see them?"
"Alana, boys will. Boys are gonna see your panties, they're gonna be in your panties soon enough, that's if you turn out like me." I laugh and so does she but she laughs awkwardly whether I laugh with laughter. I follow her as we walk into Calvin Klein. She walks me over to the pants and points at a few. It's four for thirty pounds which apparently according to Kylie is really good.
"Woah, wait! These are thongs," I say picking them up with my thumb and index finger. She laughs at me which makes me laugh too. This time it's me doing the awkward laugh. I pick the colours black, grey, navy blue and red. I pay for them and then the lady hands me the bag. We walk into Victoria's Secret and Kylie runs over to the bras and rolls her eyes and moans,
"They're beautiful!" I do another small awkward laugh and then admire a few of the bras.
"You want racy colours such as red and black. I'd suggest getting the colours you got of pants, like a grey one and a navy one. So get four bras - actually get five. You need a white one," she says to me but still admiring all the bras. I pick up the the nearest bras that are the colours of my pants and she stops me. She grabs my wrist and looks me in the eyes,
"Seriously?" I frown and she looks down at the bras. She flicks past a few of them and tuts her head in disappointment. She takes them away from me and hangs them back up. She grabs different ones but the same colours just different style. I feel inside and they're all push ups. I look up at her and she shrugs her shoulders and then points to the desk, hinting for me to go pay.
