Dexters was the one of the only reasons Liza had gotten out of bed in the last two weeks, as it was really the only thing that she really had to go to unless she wanted to be fired. She had been thankful that Mick hadn't pried into why she and Steve had broken up, he knew before she had even told him actually. The blonde made sure to go to every shift she had, made sure she did her job before going back home to crawl into her bed and ignore the world until Dustin or her mother tried to get her to get up and go to school.
At nine o'clock, Liza flipped the open sign and was ready to repeat the same routine. Grabbing her bag and skateboard from the floor, she exited the store and locked it. Glancing over to Family Video she saw Robin doing the same thing, though she knew the girl would be waiting for her mother to come pick her up. Robin spun around and Liza knew she was looking at her.
"Hi, Liz!" Robin called across the street.
It had been two weeks of this. Robin catching Liza after shifts, saying hello to her in what the blonde knew was an attempt to break through the wall she had put up between them. Each time Liza would ignore her and head home, not ready to talk to Robin in the slightest. She was still hurt that the girl spied, that Robin had tried to lie about spying. She felt betrayed and did the best thing she could think of and shut the girl out. However, Liza was tired of shutting out her friend.
"Hey, Robin." Liza said back, crossing over to come and stand in front of the girl. Robin's eyes widened and Liza had to bite back a smile. "How are you?"
"Oh, I'm. . . Good." Robin lied. She looked at Liza before sighing. "I'm actually horrible. I was a horrible friend and I was stupid. Like seriously stupid. I miss you so much. I should have just told you Steve was worried and instead I was a dingus and spied and lost my soulmate and I'm so sorry Liza. Like so fucking sorry."
Liza stared at Robin for a second. She knew this was a possibility when she talked to Robin, the rambling apology. That's what took her so long to talk to the girl again, because she knew the minute she heard the words she'd accept them. Two weeks of radio silence, two weeks of nothing but her own thoughts and Liza knew that when the time came she would accept Robin with open arms. She just needed to heal from friendship heartbreak first.
"I get it, Robin. You were just trying to be a good friend, in your own weird way." Liza said, putting down her stuff so she could grab Robin's hands. "And I forgive you. I honestly don't think I can go much longer not forgiving you. I already lost. . . I can't lose my soulmate too."
Robin blinked a few times before pulling Liza into the tightest hug she could muster. It was mostly so she could hide the fact that she had begun to tear up. She couldn't believe that not only had Liza talked to her but the blonde had forgiven her. Robin felt Liza start to shake and she pulled away to see why. Tears were tracking down Liza's face and given the expression, she knew it wasn't because she was happy to have her friend back.
