Aiden
I woke up to the feeling of someone un-tying my ankle, a single man on the floor kneeling in front of me.
I began to move and he was quick to grab onto my leg with both hands, his blue eyes looking up at me. "I'm going to help you."
"Bullshit." I grumbled, but I didn't really have the energy to fight. "Fucking hell, how long have I been here?"
"About a day." The guy said, finally releasing my leg so he could put a metal clasp around it. The clasp was attatched to a thick chain, too thick to break. Next to the guy on the floor was a plate of food, but I was in no mood to eat.
"Is that for me?" I asked, nodding at the food.
"Yeah." He said, grabbing onto the back of my chair and sliding it across the floor to the back corner of the room. It was then that I realized my chair wasn't bolted to the ground anymore and I could've escaped while he was untying me.
But it was too late, the guy attached the end of my ankle chain to the ground, the chain long enough that I could probably get to the middle of the room, but no further.
"I would give it to Maria." The guy said, now un-tying my other ankle. "They don't plan on feeding her, you're going to get food again today"
"Keep talking and maybe I won't bash your head in once you untie my hands." I said, the guy seeming unbothered but looking at me.
He was on the smaller side with blonde hair and blue eyes, dressed in all black. "Look Aiden." He sighed, clearly fed up with me. "I'm going to help you, I was sent here by Marco a little over a week ago. I've been talking to him. He's going to save you, he just needs time."
"Time for what?" I scoffed, knowing Maria was his only family. She had to be more important than whatever else he had going on.
"Well he needs me to help him map out the place, keep track of who's where and how many people there are here. Marco can't show up and be outnumbered, that would be suicide." The guy said it like it was obvious, standing up to untie my hands. "And of course the company will go into a panic if anyone hears about Maria being kidnapped, so he has to keep things subtle while assembling a group to get you guys out of here."
"When does he plan on coming?" I asked, pulling my hands into my lap and examining my beat up wrists.
"Tonight." The guy offered me his hand and I took it, attempting to stand up. My legs were numb and definitely asleep, so I held on tight to him.
"Isn't there a sound system in this room?" I asked, attempting to take a step.
"Yeah I just turned off the speakers and microphones before coming in, they won't know about this conversation." The guy slowly began to release me, my chain shorter than I expected and only allowing for a few steps.
"Thank you." I patted him on the shoulder, appreciating him risking his life for us. If Daniel knew he was a spy, he would be dead in seconds.
"I have to go." The guy handed me the paper plate that was on the ground, filled with beans and rice. There was also a can of pineapple, but no way to open it. A pathetic plastic fork was laying across the food. "I'll bring Maria in, she doesn't know yet about any of it. But don't tell her."
I nodded and set the plate down on the metal chair as the guy left, surprised he didn't take it away. I assumed that meant no one else was going to be entering the room aside from Maria, and they knew I wouldn't hurt her.
I practiced walking around while I waited, knowing the ankle chain was only temporary. The room was fully cement with a metal door at the front of the room, two cameras in opposite corners of the room.
