Aiden
"Is she mad at me?" I asked Marco, who was sitting next to me in the back of one of his cars, his personal driver in the front seat. "Ive been texting her like crazy all day, I even bought wifi for the plane."
"She's unpacking, we literally started moving in today." Marco said, rolling his eyes. "She's probably busy setting up her room and picking out chairs for her balcony."
"I still can't believe you moved into a mansion." I said, remembering reading through Maria's excited texts about her new home. Those messages were from weeks ago, but I was just able to read them today. "Is she finally getting a car?"
"Maybe for christmas." Marco said, shrugging. "Can't spoil her too much."
"I'll spoil her enough for the both of us." The money I earned for my final job felt heavy in my pocket, guilty money.
Marco rolled his eyes as the car stopped in front of a giant iron gate, the driver sticking his arm out the window to enter a code on a key-pad.
I watched as the spikes under the gate slipped down under the ground as the gates opened, the road lined with tall hedges as far as I could see. As the car began to move again, a giant fountain came into veiw, and then Marco and Maria's massive new house.
The road made a circle around the fountain, but most of the road was occupied by moving trucks and hefty looking men carrying boxes towards the front doors, which were wide open. Three massive pillars shot out of the porch, up the second story, all the way to the roof. The white exterior of the house seemed to glow under the autumn sun and the grey roof gave the place a modern feel.
Standing under one of the archways, taking a box from a man with rolling muscles, was maria. She was dressed in loose grey shorts and a navy t-shirt, her long hair in its naturally curled state and pulled up into a messy bun. She held the box against her waist as Marco's car approached and then stopped, her eyes shining with expectancy as she watched the back door open.
As I stepped out, with nothing but a duffle bag, Maria dropped the box she was holding with a thud. Before I knew it she was running towards me and then in my arms, body seeming more frail than when I left.
"I missed you so much." I whispered, breathing in the scent of her. The scent of her skin, her hair, the feeling of her body in my hands. "I'm so sorry."
"You don't understand how badly I missed you Aiden." Maria pulled back to smash her lips to mine, lips desperate and hands grabbing at my hair. "Your hair." Her words were breathed against my mouth.
"It's the same as when I left baby." I pulled back to look down at her, but I wasn't going to let go completely yet.
"I know I just missed it." She burried her head in my chest, arms wrapped around me. "i'm so glad you're safe."
"I promised I would be." I smiled as I ran a hand down Maria's back, watching the way goosebumps appeared on her skin. "I missed your beautiful face."
"What about my beautiful everything else?" Maria grinned up at me, lightening the mood as she pulled away. I resisted the urge to smack her butt in front of her older brother as I answered.
"I missed your beautiful everything else too."
"Good." Maria bent over to pick up the brown box she had dropped, and I reaaaalllly had to resist the urge. "Come see the house."
I walked over and took the box from her hands as I followed her into the house, two massive staircases welcoming me. "It's huge."
"I love it, wait till you see the kitchen." Maria led me down the hallway in between the staircases, leading me into a massive white kitchen. The windows along the back wall revealed a pool and hot tub in the backyard, lined with pool chairs.
"Very pretty." I followed Maria back towards the stairs before following her up, dodging movers carrying boxes and rearranging furniture. "Did the house come furnished?"
"Yeah but I only kept the vanity in my room, everything else is my furniture." Maria led me down a long hallway and into what looked like her new bedroom.
It's massive compared to her old one, with two french doors leading out to a balcony with a veiw over the backyard. Her queen sized bed doesn't take up most of the room anymore, and there's multiple windows covered in thin white curtains.
The floor is covered in boxes, so I set the one im carrying down.
"Oh my gosh and look." Maria runs to the other side of the room and flings open two white doors, showing me her walk-in closet with a big smile on her face. "ITS A WALK IN."
"Is it sound proof?" I asked, Maria frowning in confusion before her jaw dropped. I couldn't help but laugh as I sat down on her bed, admiring the way she couldn't help but flush.
"Aiden Smith that is nasty, that's where all my clothes are going to be." She huffed, and crossed her arms, mine automatically reaching out for her.
"Aww baby, that means easy clean up."
Maria smacked my arm as I grabbed her around the waist, pulling her close to me as I laughed, eye level with her crossed arms.
"Not funny." She glared at me, cheeks still pink. "Not funny at all."
"You're right." I let my expression fade into a serious one. "The kitchen and your three living rooms will need attention too."
"Nope, you're done." Maria began to squirm and push my arms off. "Get off you dirty, horny little-!"
"So is pizza fine for dinner?" Marco cleared his throat as he stood in the doorway, Maria and I both freezing. "Or do you want something else?"
"Pizzas fine." Maria spoke quickly, the two of us mortified and wondering how much he heard. "Just get it from that one place I like."
"Okay, the guys should be done before 6:00, so in about two hours. Until then let's not show any rooms 'attention.'"
My face felt hot as Marco gave us a look, turning and walking out of Maria's room.
"So when they're done..." Maria was quick to grab a pillow, wacking me in the face to shut me up.
"God I haven't seen you in three weeks, just shut up for once." Maria leaned in and kissed me slowly, her soft hand stroking my cheek as her body melted into mine. I pulled her down onto me, still sitting on her bed.
"I'll never speak again if this is what I get" I whispered against her mouth, needing this more than anything. She straddled my lap as we kissed, letting each other know how much we missed one another.
Maria pulled back, staring into my eyes for a moment. "So you finished your final job."
I nodded slowly, my thumb rubbing circles on her thigh. "I'm done, it's over."
"Good." She placed a kiss on my cheek, my skin tingling with want. "So we're safe? They aren't contacting you ever?"
"We're safe, you're safe. That's what matters." I rested my forehead against Maria's. "I would go to hell and back if it meant keeping you safe. I'm just sorry it took so long."
"I've never had to miss you Aiden, and knowing that I woke up everyday and wished you were there just tells me that I really do love you."
"I love you so much sweetheart." I pressed a short kiss to her mouth. "How was your new bodyguard?"
"Weird." Maria scoffed, pulling her face away. "He was so odd, he was basically married to my bedroom door."
I laughed, brushing a curl behind Maria's ear. "Oh yeah?"
"Yes, i missed you like crazy."
"Well you don't have to anymore. Marco offered for me to live downstairs." Maria's eyes lit up and I couldn't help but smile. "I would take the biggest guest room downstairs with the bathroom attatched."
"Would you be okay with that? You wouldn't have your own space anymore." Maria said, running a hand through my hair. "I'll be okay if this is for me."
"I want to be with you always, all the time." I assured her, leaning into her touch. "If I could move in to the room right next door I would."
"Always huh?"
I nodded. "Always."
