Maria
Aiden raised an eyebrow as I began to tear through a brown box on my bedroom floor, Aiden currently watching me from my bed.
"The fuck did the box do to you?" Aiden asked, phone on his chest as he laid down. "You okay sweetheart?"
"I'm fine."
I was not fine. My room was in shambles as I tried to unpack everything. My last bedroom was decorated throughout the many years I spent in there, and all the trinkets and pictures I acquired were a bit more than I thought there would be.
Aiden's warm hands were on my shoulders in a second, massaging them gently as my head automatically fell backwards into the touch. I was currently wearing a big t-shirt and some sweats, essentially what I wore everyday since the move. Thanksgiving break gave me an excuse to not leave our new house, but I definitely wasn't taking good care of myself as a result.
"What will calm you?" Aiden's voice asked from above me. "Maybe do a face mask or something."
"I have no idea where any of my good skincare is right now." I sighed, pulling my knees to my chest. "I hate unpacking everything, I feel like nothings in the right spot."
"Hm, so only the bad skincare then?" Aiden asked, leanings down and kissing the top of my head.
I nodded and held up a hello-kitty face mask that cost about a dollar, knowing it would break me out so bad if I tried to put it on.
"That's cute." Aiden said, sitting down next to me on the floor.
"We don't all have perfect skin Aiden." I turned to him, admiring his flawless face. I placed my thumb on his cheek, running it up and down his face. "I'm jealous."
"So put it on me. We can pretend we're in a spa." Aiden shrugged, and I immediately beamed.
Finally.
"Let me pluck your eyebrows."
"Fuck." Aiden kissed my mouth quickly. "No."
"Please?" I begged, clasping my hands together. "Please cmon, i'll make you look soooo pretty."
"Okay rude I thought I was already pretty." Aiden rolled his eyes, pretending to be offended. "Absolutely not, I'm not trying to look like a cigarette mom."
I gasped. "Have you seen my eyebrows?? I do them myself! Do I look like a cigarette mom?!"
Aiden paused for a moment, thinking of a way to get out of this. "no..."
"Exactly." I stood up, reaching for my vanity. I grabbed my makeup bag with my tweezers and a few other items, and brought it over to my bed along with the face mask. I patted the bed and Aiden reluctantly stood up, rolling his eyes as I grabbed a fluffy headband.
"You're lucky I love you." Aiden grumbled as he laid down, huffing as I put the headband over his face and then pulled it upwards, pulling his curls off of his forehead. "I feel exposed."
"Don't worry, i'm not judging your old man hairline at all." I giggled as Aiden crossed his arms, although his hairline wasn't bad. I climbed over him to straddle his lap as I reached into my makeup bag, grabbing a pair of black tweezers. "I'm kidding, our kids will have great hairlines."
"Oh?"
I paused, realizing what I had just said. Aiden had never mentioned anything like that before, and I wasn't even sure if he wanted kids. "I'm sorry I didn't mean-"
"Maria." Aiden held my thighs, rubbing them gently with his thumbs. "You want kids?"
I nodded slowly, now fidgeting with the tweezers. "Not here though."
"Where?"
"Anywhere else." I leaned down and placed my wrist next to Aiden's eyebrow, gently beggining to pluck any hairs that were out of place. "Its not safe here."
"Here as in California?" Aiden asked, staring up at me while still massaging my thighs. "Or-?"
"Here as in the States." I pulled back, trying to gauge Aiden's reaction to that. "Italy would be a dream, but Canada would be safer too. Or England, Greece maybe."
"Why don't we go?" I began to pluck again, Aiden's nose scrunching slightly. "I better look like a fucking model after this, but anyway, I want to take you to all those places. Then you can pick your favorite."
"I have school Aiden, you're the only one re-graduating in... wait are you re-graduating?"
"No." Aiden's tone was flat. "I never graduated."
"Oh my god." I sighed and sat back, admiring my masterpiece of Aiden's eyebrows. "Okay we're throwing a huge party."
"Absolutely not." Aiden shook his head like I was crazy, eyeing the hello kitty face mask in my hands as I began to open the packaging. "Skip the party, let's travel."
"How about we do both?" I placed the sheet-mask on Aiden's face slowly, making sure I laid it correctly. "Your eyelashes are insane."
"Thank you?" Aiden laughed a little, squeezing my thighs tightly. "How many kids do you want?"
"At least two." I answered truthfully, grabbing a face roller out of my bag and beggining to run it up and down Aiden's face slowly. "I think it's important that they have a sibling you know, someone that cares for them and they can care for in return."
"I agree." Aiden nodded. "Two or three sounds good."
I smiled. "Yeah?"
"You thought I was lying when I said i'll always love you?" Aiden laughed. "Yeah you're stuck with me."
"Hm I don't mind that." I leaned down and gently kissed Aiden's lips, feeling the cold face mask against my nose and cheeks.
"I wanted to ask you about something." Aiden asked as I peeled the mask from his skin, massaging into his skin the excess product.
"Okay." I said, using my thumbs to massage his jaw and temples.
"I think you're it for me Maria. And incase you haven't noticed, I'm not stingy with what goes on my body." Aiden lifted a tattoo covered arm, a nervous expression on his face. "I want to get another tattoo."
"Okay." I nodded. "Go for it, what do you want?"
"I want your name under my collarbone."
My hands stopped, my eyes finding Aiden's. "I- what? Really?"
Aiden nodded, staring back at me. "Yes. I want to be yours forever, permanently if you will."
"I mean that's.." my heart swelled, unable to find the words. "You say that now but I mean, what about in ten years? What about when we're old and grey and I can't-"
"Maria." Aiden sat up with me in his lap, grabbing my waist and pulling me against him into a hug. "I will never leave you. I can't even think about loving anyone else ever."
I felt like my heart was going to explode as tears flooded my eyes, arms hugging Aiden's neck tightly. "You really want my name tattooed on you?"
"Preferably in your handwriting." Aiden kissed my cheek, and I couldn't help but giggle at the fluffy headband he was still wearing. "You complete me."
I beamed, pecking a kiss onto his jaw. "Thank you for making today so much better."
"Of course." Aiden glanced around the room, biting his lip. "Maybe we should keep unpacking though."
I looked at the brown boxes absorbing my room. "Definitely."
