Like Old Times

The plane lands and Tessa is met by her favorite manager. "Hey old man," she jokes as Milton smiles.

"I didn't get that much grey hair while you were away," he laughs as he grabs her bags for her. Security escorts her through the airport as the paparazzi arrived and in numbers.

"I can definitely tell I'm not at home anymore," she says as everyone snaps a photo of their favorite singer.

They get into the limo as Milton talks about her recent decline in numbers. "So how was the trip," he asks to start things off well.

"It was good, going back home was just what I need," she says as Milton asks about her boyfriend.

"Glad to see Matthew," he asks as he sees how she responds.

"Yeah it was tough not having him on tour but he is very supportive and was super excited to see me. We pretty much spent the entire time together," she informs him.

"Yeah being away from loved ones can be tough but now that you're back I got some good news and bad news," he says as Tessa always takes the bad news first.

"Shoot me with the bad news," she grumbles.

"Your numbers have taken a very steep dive after the tour. We believe it is because you haven't released or announced any new music. After you do we definitely think you'll be on your way back into the spotlight," he says with a smile as Tessa expected her numbers to fall a little.

"And the good news," she asks.

"Me and some of the team wrote you a song that we think might just put you in the number one spot for months. It has the potential to be multi-platinum and even win song of the year at the Grammys," he states as Tessa is very happy to hear that.

They arrive at his house as Liam is walking out the door after recording some new music. "Hey look who it is," says Liam as he walks down the driveway.

"Yeah back from the East Coast," she says as Milton looks at Liam.

"How was home," asks Liam as he puts his hands in his pockets.

"You know just the same place it was when we left. Everyone misses you too btw, they all asked about you," says Tessa as Liam doesn't know what to say.

"I'm gonna try and make it over there soon. I better get going though I have a busy schedule today," he says as he starts walking to his car. He gets in and he lays his head back on the seat. After taking a deep breath he starts it up as he can't believe their first meeting since her return was so awkward.

Tessa feels like he was avoiding her as she asks Milton what his deal was. "What's up with him," Tessa asks as Milton makes up a lie.

"You know how he is when he starts dating a model. He is always on the run and doing what they say," he jokes as Tessa actually believes it.

They get to the recording booth as Milton has her start working on the new song. "So this song is called "Halo". Me and the writing team wrote this one while you were gone. Let's give it a go and we will touch up to our vision of the song," says Milton as he dissected the way Liam had done it in his take.

Tessa starts the song as she showcases her vocals in the best way possible. The song really pushes her pitches to the limit but she never falters. Milton likes the changes Liam had made to it to work with her singing it. Not only is he impressed by her vocals for it but the way Liam wrote, styled, and refined it specifically for her when he decided to give it to her.

It was at this moment that Milton realized Liam was a super-talented writer and producer of music as the song now fits Tessa flawlessly. Everyone in the booth can't help but bop their head as she powers through the song.
