The Choice

Liam walks into his house as he gathers his things. His parents follow him to his room as they stare at the luggage piled up. "What is going on," asks his mom as Liam smiles.

"I'm going to become rich and famous so I need to move to LA," he says as he hands them Milton's business card.

"Uhhh what," his dad says out loud.

"Dad I'm going to get rich and famous which means you will be rich and famous," he states out loud as he points at the business card.

"What if he is a fraud," suggests his dad.

"Ralph said he was legit and you know how nerdy he is when it comes to shit like that," says Liam as his mother agrees.

Liam grabs his shit as he throws it in his brand new Mustang GT. His parents walk outside as they are stunned but not surprised by their child's reaction. After jumping in his car he yells that he loves them and then speeds off.

"Well we did say he never ceases to surprise us," his dad says as they watch him drive off.

Tessa arrives home as she walks in the door earlier than her parents expected. They both meet her at the door as they are concerned as she is never back early. She walks inside as she lays her keys on the counter as has them sit in the living room.

"So tonight something strange happened. We went to karaoke like we do every Friday night. Well, me and Liam drew the short straws of course and we sang on stage. After we finished this guy came up and offered us record deals while explaining who he was," she says as she hands them his business card.

Her parents process everything she said as her dad recognizes the business card. "Yeah this guy is legit he was on a podcast I listen to not long ago talking about how he was going around the world to find the next big artist. He has a very deep background in music. He's done publishing, managing, and producing," her dad states as her mom looks at the card.

"So he wants the both of you," her mom asks as Tessa nods her head yes.

Tessa's dad who doesn't really wanna see his daughter leave knows how big this is. "Look sweetheart, I'm sure Ralph already explained this with his music knowledge but this is a huge opportunity. I don't want to pressure you into one choice or the other but if I was you I would give it a shot. What's the worse that could happen," he explains as that's the same thing Ralph said to her.

"Honey I think you should do whatever your heart tells you do to. It would be an amazing experience and chance but you do what you want," her mother suggests as Tessa thinks long and hard about it.

She heads to her room and she decides to call Matthew. "Hey handsome," she answers.

"Hey gorgeous girl, did you decide on what you were gonna do," he asks as she fumbles around her bed.

"I don't know, I want to but I'll be leaving so much behind, and what if I end up being a failure," she says as she doesn't want to embarrass herself.

"You're the brightest girl in the world. You also have an amazing voice plus Liam will be there to aggregate you to ensure to end up successful," he laughs as Tessa starts to lean towards going.

"Yeah, but I'll be away from you for a while. We have been by each other's side for two years," she states as Matthew understands.

"Yeah but if you make it big we can be by each other's side wherever we want whenever we want," he tells her as she agrees.

"Alright, fuck it I'm going," she finally says as Matthew is excited. "Drive me to the airport," she questions.

"I wouldn't miss it for nothing," he says as she hangs up and starts packing her things.

They arrive at the airport and Liam makes it his duty to beat them there first. He whips it right out in front of them as Matthew laughs at his stupidity. They all get out as Milton awaits at the jet.

"I was starting to get worried," says Milton as he helps them get their bags on board.

"Well I had to really think about it," says Tessa as Liam goes to walk on the plane.

"Hey, Liam what about your car," says Matthew as Liam turns around.

"Shit, I'm not gonna need that piece of shit here soon. I'll be rich," he laughs as he walks on the plane.

After take off Milton has a talk about what they can expect when they arrive.

"Alright, so when we touch down I have a house I rent out. It has two separate studios in it so you guys can start your work. Then I'll come by and have you both sign some papers and then you can explore LA on me," he says as Liam likes that idea.

"The big thing is getting a first song completed soon so we can get it up and your names out there. I'm very good at my job so it won't be hard to get you some listens but how many listens is up to how popular the songs become," he adds as Tessa has no idea where to start.
