The next morning, I woke up to the wailing of Aegon. But when I opened my eyes I saw that Viserys had already gone to him and hushing him to quiet down. "Aegon, we need to be quiet, your mother is sleeping, she needs she rest" he whispered to Aegon.
I quietly pulled the covers off of me and sat up, "Mama!" Aegon said and pointed at me. Viserys turned around and walked over to the bed still holding Aegon. "I didn't want to wake you, you were so peaceful" he said and kissed me on the cheek. "Good morrow husband" I replied still a bit sleepy.
Viserys had informed me that we will be breaking fast soon and I rushed to get dressed. I was struggling with my hair when Alicent and Cassandra entered my tent already ready. "Oh let me help you with that" Cassandra said and took the brush from my hands "Rhaenyra still hasn't been found" Alicent informed me and for some reason I didn't want her to be found.
When Cassandra finished with my hair, I looked in the mirror, pleased with my appearance, we left the tent, Alicent went to find her father and Cassandra went to who knows what. I saw Viserys and Aegon standing and playing with Aegon's miniature dragon, from afar they looked so adorable. I approached them from behind "Aren't you too the cutest" I said and then we made our way to the table.
I leaned over to Alicent "Have they found Rhaenyra yet?" I whispered but she just nodded her head, I turned and saw a small circle forming around two horses. Rhaenyra was on one of the horses, Ser Criston on the other, she walked down the path and I could see her neck and hair bloody as if she killed something.
The entire time we ate neither Viserys nor I uttered a single word, while we were ate they prepared the wheelhouse for our trip back home. The entire ride was filled with shouting coming from either Rhaenyra or Viserys and even continued when we reached the castle.
I walked to our chambers and the maiden drew me up a warm bath. I slowly stepped into the walked and laid back relaxing, after some time I heard a knock on the door I sat it straight "Enter" I yelled and one of the wet nurses came in holding a crying Aegon "Sorry, your grace, he wouldn't stop crying" she said and I motioned her to come closer. "Put him in the water" I said, she hesitated for a while but then undressed him and placed him in the water.
He started playing with the water, then came closer to my belly "Baby" he said and placed a hand on my belly "Yes, a baby" I said. After I finished washed Aegon and myself I climbed out of the water and lefter Aegon out as well, when we finished dressed I decided to go for a walk around the castle. ～～～～ The hour was late and I decided to retire to bed and it seemed that Aegon felt the same way when he called out "Dada." I walked back to our chambers and the knight opened the door "Dada" Aegon yelled the moment he saw Viserys sitting by the fireplace he turned and I placed Aegon on this lap. "Your's supposed to be asleep little man" he said and Aegon started giggling.
"We went for a walk then he wanted to see you" I said, Viserys leaned back in his chair and rubbed his forehead "Is everything alright Viserys?" I asked getting a bit worried "The Gods have punished me for my indulgences" he said then chuckled lightly "At least the wine was good" I said jokingly "Too good" he said and pulled Aegon closer to him.
"Can we maybe discuss something?" I asked, Viserys looked at me with a knowing look "Rhaenyra" he stated "I do not think she enjoyed Jason Lannister's company. She is cross" he said and took a sip of his tea. "I warned you that she would be" I reminded him "Rhaenyra has come of age. She must needs marry a high Lord who will honor her, defend her and serve her as King consort" he said with a lot of hand gestures.
"I do believe Rhaenyra will marry but at her own time, Viserys" I reassured him, he leaned back in his chair and place a letter on the table "Another proposal?" I asked "A letter from your uncle, Vaemond Velaryon. His fighting in the Stepstones" he said and curiously I wanted to read the letter.
May I?" I asked and he nodded his head, I took the letter and read the contents "My father and Daemon are losing the war" I stated "Badly, by all accounts" he said but wasn't getting the point "This is a plea for aid" I explained "I know" he said not bothered "Then why not sent it?" I asked "Because it is a war started my two malcontents, unhappy with decisions I made. If I now provide your father succor, what they say of their King?" He explained.
"Maybe that he is a good man that loves his brother?" "If you truly believe that, my love, then you posses a generous spirit" he said, I smiled proudly and she laughed softly "If the Crabfeeder thrives is that good or bad for the Kingdom?" I asked him, he took a while to think about it but eventually looked please with his decision.
I looked to at Aegon and saw him yawn "I think we should head to bed and sleep, what do you say Aegon" he asked Aegon then stood up, I followed not far behind and got into bed. Viserys and I laid face to face with Aegon between us, he rubbed my belly then kissed mine and Aegon's foreheads. He whispered a soft "I love you, Aemma" he whispered and falls asleep. Aemma this true love.
