LATE SALLOWEEN WRITING ENTRY I GAVE UP ON THE OTHER ONES
Travis had always never trusted his father, though he kept a morsel of sympathy for him, No wife, Unhappy son... He's a pastor for god's sake!
Until one day.
Travis had been silently eating dinner, not caring to celebrate his birthday next week, but Kenneth had been panicking, pacing around the house, daily trips to the church, and burying himself in work.
On the faithful day of his birthday, Sal had told him that he could go to the mall with him, and get him clothes that he likes.
Travis walked outside the school gates, when he was about to walk home, he noticed Kenneth there, among the parents.
He cautiously walked up to his father and followed him to the car.
" Why did you pick me up today? " Travis scowled, looking out the window.
" I've been keeping secrets from you. " Kenneth parked in front of the church and walked out, waiting for Travis to follow.
" You're dragging me with you to work? "
" You can call it that. " Kenneth glared at Travis before walking into the church, kneeling beside the pedestal he'd usually preach from.
" ... What are we doing here...? " Travis questioned, he was getting chills.
" You'll see, Travis. " Kenneth lifted the hatch, hidden among the floorboards, showing Travis the staircase leading downward.
Travis goes silent, terrified to move.
" Let's go, Travis. " Kenneth grabbed Travis's shoulder and made him lead the way down the stairs.
Travis stared at the cultists covering the walls in the long hall. Leading to a ditch and a pedestal.
" Wait!- Father?! Before my birthday?! " Travis shook as much as he could, trying to get his father's hands off him.
" Don't reject it now, Travis. " Kenneth forced Travis to move forward, stopping right in front of the bottomless pit.
" This is for the good of everyone. " Kenneth whispered as he let go, Letting the cultists tie him just under the pedestal above the pit.
" Father!- I- I don't understand... " Travis cried, yelling this much has made his voice scratchy, and made him tired. He had never yelled like this before.
" You will soon. " Kenneth smirked as he walked to the pedestal, chanting some kind of language as Travis struggled against the leather straps keeping him to the stone wall under Kenneth.
Travis suddenly felt weak, far too weak to continue struggling. He just sobbed as he was kept here for hours.
" it'll be all over soon, my sweet boy. " Kenneth looked down at Travis as if he was God gazing down at him, judging him based on his sins.
