Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince

1: Summer Carnival

The sounds of laughter and screaming can be heard at every corner. As you and Sophia (your best friend ) walk around the cool night air goes by allowing a break from the normal summer heat. Having spent most of the day at the carnival you are ready to go home but little did you know how glad you'd be that you stayed. 

Y/N's POV

"Come on Y/N, you always try to back out early lets play a couple more games we still haven't won yet!" said Sophia

I roll my eyes but sigh in defeat and say"fine Soph, you win but just for today, you know how exhausted i've been with practice it doesn't matter if it's summer break to the coach we still have to train"

She squeals in excitement, "Yayyyy, lets start with the basketball one put some of your training to good use." 

 "Basketball is not the same is Football but sure" I look at her and frown but follow her lead anyways. 

I hand over the tickets to play and get the baskets needed to win. Soph jumps around happy knowing I will let her keep the prize. I smile at her antics and tell the guy running the booth to let her choose whatever she wants. 

I start walking away with my hands in my pocket when I look up and see a girl with the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen. I stand starstruck for a moment with wide eyes the girl catches my stare and smiles at me I thought I had just died and gone to heaven. My heartbeat picked up, I started to think I had forgotten how to breathe I smile back and before I get the chance to say anything Soph comes up behind me shoving her prize in my face.

 I quickly turn in dissaproval as she says "look at what I got isn't it so CUTE!!!" 

I see she got a big Pikachu plushy and as much as I'd love to catch them all I remember the girl I saw and as fast as I can I move it out of my way and see that she is gone. I frown and start looking around like i've lost my head. Soph stares at me like I am crazy and before she gets the chance to question I say "I think i just saw an angel"  

She laughs and looks at her plushy and says " Well I know Pikachu is very popular but I wouldn't say he's an angel" 

I smack my forehead but keep searching but to my dissapointent the blue eyed goddess is nowhere to be found. I sigh heavily feeling as though I might have been dreaming. Running my hands through my hair I decide to just move on to the next game and try to enjoy the rest of the night. As we continue playing different games that honestly have to be so stupid we end up winning more prizes which I let Soph have her fun picking. I only keep one of the smaller prizes a little bear with a bow. As it approaches 10 pm we decide on ending the night with the ferris wheel. 

As we make our way waiting for our turn Soph sees one of our friends that she is crushing on Daniel. She makes her way to him and invites him to join us. 

"Hey Y/N, how has your summer been?" ask Daniel

"It has been fun, i've been doing a lot of training for the season but Soph has been making sure I come out of my cave to get some fresh air." I say

He smiles at me and before we can continue Soph quickly interrupts and says "Dan why don't you join us for the ferris wheel? You can ride with me because Y/N doesn't care to ride alone right Y/N?" She turns to me with wide eyes and a big smile hoping I catch on to what she is trying to do.

I smile while holding back a laugh and say "Not at all, you kids have fun" 

Dan turns to me smiling in agreement and gets on with Soph as they get buckled in and start I prepare to be riding alone figuring it won't kill me. I sit down and before getting sent off the guy controlling the ferris wheel says "Last call for the ferris wheel!" I slightly cringe as it feels awkward to just be sitting here waiting for him to move it. I soon see someone coming up and talking to him and he quickly nods,  to my surprise I see it's the angel from earlier. 

She walks up to me and speaks for the first time and says "Is this seat taken?" 

"No it's not" I say and quickly scoot over so she can sit down. As she does her scent invades my space and it feels like i've been drugged. I couldn't believe how the world was playing tricks on me. Could she really be next to me or am I going crazy, as I am lost in my thoughts I didn't realize the ferris wheel started moving. 

Soon breaking my thoughts she says "Hi, I'm Taylor by the way." she puts her hand out to me and I quickly turn to her and shake it. Finally getting a good look at her I can't believe how someone can be so perfect. Her blonde locks curled around her fair skin and those striking blue eyes take my breath away. I get lost admiring her I soon realize I am still shaking her hand and i quickly let go embarassed. I look away blushing and say " Sorry about that I'm Y/N by the way" I turn back looking at her and see her smiling at me and I can see there is no judgment behind her eyes. 

As the ferris wheel takes its turns stopping at the top for everyone my nerves finally calm down enough for me to ask Taylor more about herself. "Hey I haven't seen you around here are you new?" She looks at me and answers without breaking my stare "Yeah, i actually moved here to make music but I'm just getting started really." she nervously puts a strand of hair behind her ear and looks at me almost waiting for a bad response. I look at her in amazement thinking that she couldn't get any better than this and I say "Well when you become famous just know i'll be standing in the front row screaming your name" 

She looks at me shocked and smiles wide "I would love that" she says and laughs "I will hold you to it"

Soon the ferris wheel stops at the top for us I chuckle lightly and for whatever reason felt the need to say "Taylor I hope I don't come off too strong but you're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen" she looks at me shaking her head "thank you although I think you're exaggerating a little" she says. Feeling bold I grab her hands and continue "No really you're like an American dream blonde hair, blue eyes, and just all around gorgeous" I continue looking her straight in the eyes wanting her to know I'm being genuine. She smiles leans forward and kisses me on the cheek and says "you must be a part of my wildest dreams". Our moment is soon interrupted as the ferris wheel continues until it's our turn to get off. 

In the distance I see Soph and Dan waiting for me and they look at Taylor and I with curious eyes hoping to get all the gossip as soon as they can. I put my hand out telling them to wait for me as I turn to Taylor and say "I know we just met but can I get your number you know so I can show you around" she looks at me and i start to get nervous again but am soon comforted when she pulls out her phone and gives it to me. I quickly type my number in making sure it is right and then hand it back to her. She calls me so I have her number and before leaving says "It was really nice meeting you Y/N, now don't go sweeping anyone else off their feets or you'll break my heart." surprised at the tease I smile and quickly say "I wouldn't dream of it". Soon Taylor walks away but I quickly run to her and say "wait I have something for you" she turns to me confused but soon smiles when she sees the bear i hold out in my hands. "I know it's a stupid game prize but figured I can't let you go empty handed" I say. She smiles thanking me and grabs the bear before leaving.  

I walk away with a silly grin on my face and a pep in my step. Soph quickly runs over and shakes me saying "OMG who is that?" 

I end up spending the rest of the night telling Soph and Dan all about the angel whom I now know is named Taylor.
