Chapter 8

"Oh My God!" Jarrod yelled,

I woke up from my rest to find myself still in the arms of Niall.

"What the hell happened last night?" Jarrod asked, still yelling.

His mind must have been searching for ideas, and I'm pretty sure he was thinking the worst.

We sat there in silence. Niall still asleep, I'm not sure how since Jarrod was yelling, but he was.

"Did you guys have sex?" He asked quietly as he ran his fingers across his eyebrows.

"No! I... Just... Ugh! NO!" I yelled. I was appalled he would as such a thing.

Niall began to wake up, and Jarrod walked of the room. He didnt feel the need to make this situation more awkward then it already was. I mean, Niall and I didn't do anything last night, he just helped me go to sleep, that's it. But it was still a bit strange. The fact Niall and I had nothing between us, made it awkward. Besides there was no time for relationships now a days. We are trying to survive and that it.

"Goodmorning Skye," Niall said is a rough sleepy voice as he stretched his arms.

"Morning," I looked into his eyes, and things seemed to be different. I never noticed the spark in his eye.

I seemed to notice myself staring so I quickly turned my head away.

"You okay?" Niall raised his eyebrow.

Still hiding my face from him "Yeah, I'm fine," finally I looked at him, "You have an amazing voice."

"Oh thanks," he laughed a bit as his face turned a light shade of red.

Still laying there in his arms, I haft felt so safe since my father was alive.

Finally I decided it was time to get up. I walked into the small living room. Everyone huddled around the small fireplace in the corner of the room.

"Morning Skye," Liesa greater me as she turned from Harry.

"Morning", I waved my hand slightly too her as I walked to the couch.

"So can you tell me more about how the city is now," I over heard Liesa telling Harry.

"Well, it's a bit the same in a way, except for the fact you have to fight for your life 2 to 3 times a day," Harry said as he stared at the fire.

"What do you mean fight for your life 2 times a day?" I popped into their conversation without an invite, but I really wanted to know.

"What the boy is trying to say is," Louis said in a smooth voice, "You still live your life the way you did before. Go to school, go shopping, hanging out with friends, go to work, things such as that. But there are two or three random times of the day, where the creatures hunt."

"Hunt? Hunt what?" My eyes were wide mouth open.

"Us." Zayn said as he leaned himself against the wall as he stared at the ground.

"But how do you know when it's time for the hunt?" Jarrod questioned as he avoided eye contact with me.

"You know that awful noise that you hear oh so often, and the shaking of the ground?" Liam asked, I shook my head, then he continued, "Well that's our warning that the hunt has begun."

"It's... It's like they enjoy the thrill of the chase or something," Harry said sounding a bit frustrated, as he ran his fingers through his hair.
