Chapter 4

"Skye. Skye!"

"Huh?" I seemed to have lost myself in my daydream.

"I said we are at your house," I could sense a bit of irritability in Liesa's voice.

"Okay get out you, here's the plan, Jarrod you go to the kitchen and get as much good as possible. Not the kind that needs to be in the fridge. We need canned foods, chips, crackers, You know.. Stuff like that. OH! And water. Liesa I need you go upstairs and get clothes. Okay?"

"I'm pretty sure I don't have any clothes here Skye," Jarrod clearly didn't remember when he had to move in with me because he got kicked out of his house. In pretty sure his clothes takes up one third of my closet.

"Trust me Jarrod, some of your clothes are up there."

"Okay Skye, what type of clothes do I need to get?"

"Clothes for summer, and winter. All seasons. Got it?"

"Got it."

The ground began to shake a again. And it was worse then before. The shaking lasted about 20 seconds. Then that terrible screeching sounded seemed closer.

"And guy, we need to work fast. We really don't have much time!"

We dashed into the house and went our separate ways.

I ran to the closet in the hall and pulled out a few blankets and pillows. Shoving as many things as I could in a huge trash bag. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, brushes, soap, blankets, and pillows.

I entered my parents room hoping to find my mother but she was no where to be found. A few questions rushed through my mind but I pushed them aside. Heading over to her closet hoping to find something of good use for these Circumstances.

"Nothing," I sighed.

I looked over in the direction where my fathers closet was. I hadn't been through that closet since the day he past away.

Father kept a lot of secrets from me, and mother too. He seemed to be emotionless infront of others but I knew he was happy. He taught me how to survive in the wild, and it seems like he knew something like this would happen, and he wouldn't be around to help me.

I began to dig in his closets. The clothes still had the smell of his cologne and a bit of dust. Shirt after shirt and still nothing. No guns, no knifes no arrows. Nothing!

"Come on Old man, I know you had some weapons somewhere in this house," I whispered to myself.

I began to think back, to when my dad was alive. He seemed to always check under his bed before he went to sleep and when he woke up.

"Aha." I shot over to the bed and looked underneath it. All I could see were boxes. Small boxes. I reached for them and slowly pulled them out.

"So Skye.. What do you have there."

Being so deep in my thoughts I hadn't notice Jarrod leanig against the door frame.

He walked over and Crouched down beside me.

"It's something we might need."

I slowly opened the boxes. In one box there were 3 guns, another box had 2 bows and quite a few arrows. Another box and a few knives with some rope, and small building Utensils.

"Jarrod did you put the food in the jeep?" I asked as I closed the lids on the boxes.

"Yeah already for that taken care of. Want me to take these boxes too?"
