Chapter 18

Nialls POV

I felt all eyes on me. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to blurt that out.

Jarrod slowly rose his head from his hands, "Niall. Are you and Skye...."

"A THING," Liesa blurted out then quickly covering her hands over her mouth.

"Uh..." I felt the swear dripping from my neck.

Swiftly moving my eyes to Skye.

"Aye mate, don't look at her, she's out cold," Harry laughed.

"Yeah she can't help you now," Louis winked, "so confess Horan. You and Skye get it on right?"

"Oh god no," I practically yelled as I seen Jarrod tense up.

"Are you and Skye dating or not," I could clearly see Jarrod's protective instincts kicking in as he clinched his fits together.

"Uh," I placed my hand on the back of my neck wiping off the swear, "well."

"God damn it Niall. Yes. They are clearly dating. Since I seen them holding hands this morning in the dining hall," Liam rolled his eyes, "And I don't see what the big deal is. She finally got a damn guy."

"The big deal is, we don't have time for falling in love and getting our hearts broken," Jarrod's anger was obvious, "If you haven't notice we are in some type of damn world invasion! She is the strongest out of all of us. And we don't need a boy bringing her down."

I didn't know what to say. Skye was perfect beyond compare. Her will to fight gave me hope.

"Jarrod," a calm voice came from behind him, "Skye is happy. It's clear she likes him. He's even made her a better shot."

Liesa took him by the shoulders. She always did have a calming sense about her.

"Jarrod, you've known her just about as long as I have. She's never liked a single guy in her life," She began to whisper something into his ear.

He turned back to me. Taking steps forward till he was awkwardly close to me.

Leaning forward he whispered into my ear, "I swear to god, if you hurt her. You're going to regret it. You're not the only guy in here's a good shot."

He backed up from me and left the room and slammed the door shut.

Shortly after he left, we heard a knock on the door.

Paul came in with nothing but a frown upon his face.

"Alright, who let Skye out? I clearly told you to keep her on bed rest," Paul was a bit Aggravated but soon a bit of laughter sounded in his voice, "You should have seen the panic this morning in the dining hall. Like chickens I must say. Running every way."

I took my seat over by Skye's sleeping body.

"Also you and Skye were requested for compact practice as soon as possible. Apparently Sargent Duncan took a liking to you guys, I'll be seeing you tomorrow at 9 am."

He left out the door closing it shut.

"Alright, I'm about to go get something to eat. Anyone want to join me?" Zayn called out.

I heard quite few agreements in the room.

"Niall. You coming with us?" Liesa called to me.

"No ill stay and watch Skye. Can you bring her a bit of food. She hasn't eating much this morning."

"Of course," she nodded her head then closed the door shut.

I laid there a couple hours, just watching Skye sleep.

Her nightmares keep her from sleeping.

She beings to squirm and mumble in her sleep.

I can tell she's having a nightmare.

I scoot a bit closer to her sleeping body and wrap my arms around her waist. Resting my forehead on the back of her head.

Laying there, I had never felt so at peace. My eyes begin to be unbearably heavy.

My mind begins to wonder, slowing drifting to sleep.
