I ran through the Deadheads as fast as I possibly could, my heart thumping out of my chest as my lungs begged for air. My legs hurt and were pleading for me to stop, but I kept on running and running, until I couldn't see the Glade behind me any longer.
I slowed down and came to a stop, when a sudden burning sensation was felt on my right foot. It felt like my ankle was broken. I slumped down on a tree and took my shoe off, only to see a brown, green, and yellow bruise on my ankle.
I barely stopped myself from screaming. My ankle was, without a doubt, sprained.
I tore off one of the straps of my tank top and tightly wrapped it around my ankle. I bit my lip to not scream out in agony; but I bit so hard I could taste blood. Sweat trickled down my arms, legs, and forehead as I sucked in air from the pain being over.
I suddenly heard voices coming closer.
"Hey! Greenie! Come out here now!"
"Come here or get fed to the Grievers!"
I jumped to my feet and started to climb the tree I was sitting on. I almost fell a few times from the loss of my right foot, but I managed to climb about 12 feet in the air.
"Where did she go?"
"You lost her?!"
"Guys, she's not worth it. If we ever see her again, we'll Banish her."
I heard them walk back to the Glade as my stomach dropped. Banished? I didn't want to be Banished, but if I were to survive, I'd have to get food eventually.
I sighed. Maybe everything'll be okay. I'll get my ankle fixed, I'll get some food and water, and I'll be alright....
Hopefully...
Sorry this one was so short. Don't worry, Thomas will be coming soon
