"Wow...." Thomas muttered.
I grinned, kissing him again as I tangled my hands in his messy brown hair. He let go of my face and stood up, wrapping his arms around my waist, pulling me closer.
I finally pulled away after my lungs felt like they were about to burst.
"Now I know we were right," I whispered.
Thomas smirked, kissing me on the forehead.
"I have to get back before anyone notices I'm gone. I'll see you tomorrow night, Y/N."
He stood up and walked away from the Deadheads, leaving me in a flustered state.
He likes me back? What if we start dating? What if Alby or Newt or Minho finds out? Will they punish him?
I sighed, checking my watch. 10:00 PM
Lying back into my hammock all the while minding my foot, I wondered what would happen tomorrow....

Waking up to a new sunrise, I squinted my eyes trying to adjust to the light. I took a sip from my water bottle and ate a piece of bread. Jeff had said that I'd be able to walk so I began to practice walking around the Deadheads while thinking about Thomas non-stop.
By the end of the day, walking was easy again and I was chilling in my hammock while playing with my knife.
The Doors are gonna close soon, but Minho hasn't come to the Map room. What's going on?
I carefully climbed out of the hammock and silently made my way to the edge of the Deadheads. All the other Gladers were huddled around the West Door, clearly something was going on.
I limped over to the Homestead and stole someone's hoodie, pulled the hood over my head, and made my way to the Door.
I pushed my way to find Thomas with Newt at the front of the crowd.
I stood to Thomas's left and tapped on his shoulder. He turned to me and his eyes grew wide. I put my finger up to my lips, motioning for him to be quiet.
He nodded his head of brown hair and looked into the Maze.
"Can't we send someone in there?" Thomas asked
"Only Runners are allowed. We can't risk it for anyone else." Newt's thick accent pierced the silence.
We continued to wonder if Minho would make it back on time, when Thomas suddenly exclaimed, "There!"
He pointed into the Maze for us to all see Minho carrying Alby on his back; He was struggling to make it to the Doors on time.
The ground suddenly began to shake and the sound of stone against stone rumbled my ears. Chuck exclaimed, "C'mon Minho! You can do it!"
Erupted cheers and encouraging words scattered across the Glade as the doors began to close.
"They're not gonna make it," Newt muttered.
I glanced at Thomas. He looked as if he were deciding something. Then the realization smacked me square in the face.
"Don't," I whispered. But it was too late.
Thomas had squeezed through the Doors just as they were closing, sealing them in as well as their fate. {Gif above}
