One week later
Thomas and I had started dating in secret again. We didn't get to see each other during the day because the Gladers would be suspicious as to why he'd be in the Deadheads, but after everyone was asleep he'd be with me. We'd talk about how our day went, our problems, and just enjoy each other's company.
One day, I heard commotion coming from the Glade. And it didn't sound like the normal Thomas-and-Gally-getting-in-an-argument-and-beating-each-other-up kind of commotion. No, it sounded like chaotic commotion.
I limped through the Deadheads and into the Glade to see everyone huddled around the Watchtower with shields over their heads, protecting them from someone throwing supplies over. What the shuck....
I turned my attention over to Minho, Thomas, Jeff, and Chuck. He pointed up to the Watchtower when I saw it.
The beautiful girl was awake. I tried to remind myself that Thomas wouldn't love her for her beauty. I took a deep breath and trotted out of the Deadheads to get a closer look.
I awkwardly stood behind Newt, Thomas, and Minho.
"I don't think she likes us very much," Newt nervously pointed out.
Minho turned to me with his hands on his hips and a questioning look on his face.
"Relax, shuck-face. I'm not gonna cut anyone with a chunk of wood again," I explained while everyone else dealt with the chaos of the girl. Minho warmly smiled at me, showing his dimples and turned his attention back to the Watchtower.
"It's Thomas! It's Thomas!" I heard Thomas exclaim. Immediately, she stopped throwing things over the tower. She peeked her head off to look at us when our eyes met. Even her eyes were over-the-moon amazing.
"I'm coming up," Thomas spoke carefully.
"Just me," He said to Gally.
As he made his way up the Watchtower, I nervously tucked hair behind my ear and swallowed.
I turned to look at Newt and he gave me a welcoming smile. I returned it and he turned his attention back to the two on the tower.
Thomas and the girl talked, but we couldn't hear anything. So I decided to return back to the Deadheads.
