I woke up in a bed in a wooden hut, extremely confused.

I was lost and wanted answers, until I remembered what happened last night; the situation and the pain smashing into me like a freight train.

I looked to my right and saw Jeff restocking some shelves with supplies.

"Jeff?" He turned to me with a sympathetic smile.

"Thomas said you tripped and broke your ankle. You shouldn't worry, it isn't bad. In fact, you only fractured it. I predict that by tomorrow you'll be walking again, back in the Deadheads but with a cast."

I let out a deep breath I didn't even know I was holding.

"I need to get back to the Deadheads tonight," I muttered.

"What was that?"

"Nothing."

Night had fallen and my ankle was already getting better. I was hidden in a secluded area of the hut where no one would see me. Clint and Jeff had said goodnight to me and headed off to their hammocks.

Then Thomas walked in.

"Tom.... why are you here?"

"I thought you'd be lonely."

"Well, you sure as shuck were right."

"I wanted to say I'm sorry about your ankle, I hope it gets better."

A pause.

"I don't know why you were with me, but thanks for bringing me here."

"You're welcome."

Another pause.

"I'm, uh, gonna leave. See ya."

Thomas went to leave the room.

"Wait!"

He turned back around to look at me. "Yeah?" He asked. I sighed.

"Look, I really need to get back and Jeff said that it wasn't bad and that I would be walking again soon and-"

"You want me to take you there?" He cut me off. I stuttered before quietly muttering, "Yes." He stepped toward me and picked me up. He carried me out of the Med-jack hut to the Glade, where stars were glimmering throughout the dark blue sky.

No one was around, so Thomas carried me back to the Deadheads. We didn't the way there but when he'd set me down in my hammock he said to me, "Y'know, you don't have to stay here all the time. I'm sure you're welcome to come back."

I sighed. "Good night, Thomas."

He nodded and walked away.
