Thomas's P.O.V
I was fighting Gally in the circle, with every Glader watching us, when I suddenly pushed Gally into the rough sand.
"Not bad for a shank, huh?" I teased, when he swiped his feet under my legs and I fell, hitting my head hard.
Thomas.
Is my name Thomas? I thought.
I jumped to my feet while chanting my name.
"Thomas! I just remembered my name! I'm Thomas!"
Everyone was dead silent until Alby yelled, "THOMAS!"
Everyone started cheering my name while I felt like the happiest person in the world. I saw movement around the Deadheads and looked around, when I saw a......Girl?
She looked shocked, afraid; and swiftly turned around and darted back into the forest.
I turned around to face Newt. "Hey, you said there weren't any girls, right? I think I just saw one in the Deadheads."
His face paled. "It was just your imagination."
"No, I'm sure what I saw was real."
"You should get some rest Tommy. Chuck, show Tommy here his hammock."
He walked away while Chuck led me to my hammock. I put on a white tank top and curled up into my hammock, listening to the snores of the sleeping boys.
I should try to find that girl tomorrow....
Before I knew it, I drifted off to sleep.
Your P.O.V
I woke up to the sound of running and boys chattering.
It's Ben's day off today. I heard someone running through the Deadheads, so I scrambled for my bow and quiver, climbed up my tree, and aimed for whoever was coming.
Low and behold, it was Ben. But he didn't look right. He looked.... No, he can't be stung... Can he? He had black eyes as cold and empty as the night, dark veins pulsing through his skin, and his complexion was definitely different.
"What happened to you, Ben..?" I muttered. He looked afraid, as if he was running away from something. I lowered my bow when I heard someone muttering to themself and coming closer.
I squinted and saw Thomas carrying a bucket with his head down.
I was consumed in my own thoughts when I heard Ben shift and Thomas start talking.
"Oh, hey, Ben right?"
{Gif above} I need to get down there and help him before he gets hurt. Ben started muttering words and I could tell that Thomas was afraid.
I raised my bow and aimed for Ben, when he suddenly jumped on top of Thomas and started attacking him. I shot an arrow between them and jumped down. The arrow distracted Ben while I could come to Thomas's aid.
At this point, I didn't care if the Greenie discovered my existence–He needed my help.
I carefully jumped down the tree and tackled Ben while throwing my bow off to the side. I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. He was very strong.
Thomas looked shocked and didn't move a muscle; he seemed too surprised about seeing a girl to do anything.
"Well?! Are you gonna be an idiotic moron or go get help?! I can't hold him forever ya know!"
He got to his feet and darted out of the Deadheads, yelling for Newt and Alby.
Ben was screaming at the top of his lungs while exclaiming things about Thomas.
"It's his fault! It's all his fault!"
"Ben, what is wrong with you?! The Greenie hasn't done anything!"
Ben scrambled and flailed his limbs while I tried desperately to hold him down. Finally, his strength was too much and he broke free.
Thankfully, Newt and Alby came to my aid. Newt had a long stick in his hand and froze when he saw Ben. I grabbed both of his hands and held them behind his back.
"It's his fault! It's all his fault! We need to kill him!"
Spit flew from his mouth as he shrieked; Thomas looked more terrified than ever.
"Slim it." Newt muttered. He raised the stick above his head and connected it with Ben's head.
Ben fell unconscious as I slowly backed away. I jumped to my feet and rubbed the back of my neck.
Thomas and I locked eyes for a few seconds until Newt broke the silence.
"Tommy, help Alby and I carry Ben back to the Glade."
Thomas looked down at Ben, then back up at me. He nodded his head and helped carry Ben back to the Glade.
I kneeled down and gripped my bow.
Will Thomas forget about me?
I sighed heavily, placing the bow back into my hammock. I turned around to look for the arrow that I shot. I yanked it out of the dirt and placed it back into my quiver.
Turning around, I walked back to my little home and slung the quiver over a branch. I climbed up my tree and sat down, my legs dangling over the edge.
Ben's gonna be Banished tonight....
I sighed. I moved around on the branch until my back was against the trunk of the thick tree.
I felt at peace for a small moment, listening to the rustle of leaves in the wind and birds chirping every now and then. I closed my eyes and sighed happily, not being able to control the joyful grin plastered on my face.
