I ran away from Thomas with my food as fast as my limp could take me. By the time I reached the Deadheads, my breathing was uneven and my legs were shaking.
The worst part was that I wasn't even hungry anymore.
I sighed, slinging the bag over a thick branch and laying down in my hammock to sleep.
After what felt like hours of tossing and turning, I checked the watch that I stole from the Runners, and saw that it'd almost been two hours since my 'Meet-up' with Thomas.
Thirty minutes went by, before sleep finally welcomed me as I fell unconscious.

When I woke up, it was seven o'clock and the Runners were gone in the Maze. My stomach grumbled and I sighed. I reached into the bag and pulled out a bright green apple. I bit into it and savored the juicy taste.
I finished the apple and threw it on the ground; the squirrels could have it. I flopped out of my hammock and landed on the grass. I stood up and wiped the leaves off my clothes. I stuffed my hands into my pockets and admired the morning sky.
I made my way to the edge of the Deadheads and leaned against a tree. I searched the Glade for nothing in particular, when my eyes landed on him.
The boy who caught me last night, the boy who didn't seem to rat me out, the boy whom I saved.
Thomas.
